I like the two covers, Jon! Congratulations on getting the lettered versions.
"God punishes us for what we cannot imagine." - Stephen King, Duma Key
Very nice, Jon: congratulations.
Which of the two covers do you prefer? I always liked the "cluttered" version best.

Thanks Bill.
Thanks John. They are just out-of-series normal editions, identical to the numbered but subscriber copies.
Thanks Siep. I also prefer the "cluttered" version. The artwork is growing on me. Definitively better in real life than the initial photos we saw.
That's cool man... Loving these books!! Reading them now

Congratulations Jon. Some day I will have to re-attempt The Passage again. I just couldn't get through it and I rarely put a book down that I've started.
I had just an opposite experience. I thought the first hundred or so pages were some of the best reading I have enjoyed in a long time. Then the story jumped ahead a hundred years or so and it never grabbed me again. I barely was able to finish it. I haven't tried the second book and doubt that I will.
Bob, that's exactly where I stopped reading. That jump and the ensuing story just stopped me in my tracks. I really enjoyed everything up to that point.
It's been so long since I've read the book, ?4-5 years, and I remember I really enjoyed it. I spent a bit of last night just flicking through it just to remind me of the basic story. I had totally forgotten the gripping first 250 page section of the book. The slow burning bit I remember was the leap to the post-apocalyptic a hundred years later. I can see your point of view on this jump, going from a fast paced prologue to the slow main story. The story was long and this section of the book probably needed some more editing to make it less padded out and build the tension more. The pace of the story picked up again when Amy appeared at the First Colony and the small group left on their quest. The Twelve which is just a continuation of the quest, I thought was a better paced book. However, it did jump about a bit when introducing the back history of new characters. All in all, I am eagerly waiting for the final book in June!
A couple a small recent additions. I don't collect (at the moment) books about King but I bought the new SK companion to upgrade my really old beat-up paperback. It came with a signed promo card.
George Beahm - The Stephen King Companion - US 1st/1st HB Signed by George Beam and our very own David Williamson
Stephen King - The Stand (Complete, Uncut & Illustrated) - US Gramercy HB Edition
Nice Jon. I collect hardcover reprints and have a little collection going. I'm still missing that Gramercy edition. Congratulations.
Once you step off the cliff of collecting "books about King," it is a long fall. Lots of great books out there with fascinating information. I've really enjoyed tracking them down and most are reasonably priced, including the Lettereds, in you are patient and shop around. Congratulations on the new addition! It's a great book. I bought one from David as well.
