"A real limited edition, far from being an expensive autograph stapled to a novel, is a treasure. And like all treasures do, it transforms the responsible owner into a caretaker, and being a caretaker of something as fragile and easily destroyed as ideas and images is not a bad thing but a good one...and so is the re-evaluation of what books are and what they do that necessarily follows." - Stephen King

Oh sweet baby Jesus... I can't stop looking at the inside flap of that Salem's DJ. And it's incredible condition!
Very nice. One of only 6 or so in the world!

I agree with everyone above. Truly outstanding additions to your collection.
Thank you all for your kind words and many thanks to Simon for posting them all for me. Simon is joining me for an afternoon at the end of this month to photograph some more books, which again will be posted. Personally I am delighted with the new items, especially to have found them all in such fine condition. You will always know where one of the first state Salem's Lot is located, exactly where you have just seen it. That is one book that will never be going anywhere else.
The tray cases were commissioned for me by Emmanuel at Very Fine Books, the manufacturers I do not know.
Many thanks again for your comments, much appreciated.
Kindest regards
Alec.
Amazing. The AE Gunslinger is my favorite. Great adds is a gross understatement!

Absolutely stunning new additions, Alec. They are all the lettereds I need!
I am intrigued by the NLR traycase. I would like to see more of that one. It really perfectly finishes the set off.
Good afternoon John.
I am hoping that you are with Simon at the end of August, so you will have ample time to examine any cases that interest you.
Thank you for the observations.
Kindest regards
Alec.
I'll be there, Alec. I look forward to seeing your collection and to meeting you.
As Alec has mentioned, he is also a collector of art and since my last visit he purchased a new Bronze statue of a Harris Hawk by the sculptor Geoffrey Dashwood. Here are a couple of photos that I forgot to post previously.
It's a striking piece and one I am looking forward to seeing close up.
This should give some idea of scale...
And finally, a very atmospheric photo (taken by another 3rd party) both Alec and I agree, it would make a great book cover!
