Alec has asked me to post some additions to his collection thread. The first is an addition to the expanding Tolkien collection. This is a US 1st edition from 1938! It is in astounding condition for a book that is over 80 years old. A real beauty. (and don't miss the publishers cover quote - "The Hobbit may prove a classic" - how little they knew!
"A real limited edition, far from being an expensive autograph stapled to a novel, is a treasure. And like all treasures do, it transforms the responsible owner into a caretaker, and being a caretaker of something as fragile and easily destroyed as ideas and images is not a bad thing but a good one...and so is the re-evaluation of what books are and what they do that necessarily follows." - Stephen King
The next is a very much anticipated book. Due to Alec heading off on his Xmas break, he arranged for Paul to ship express, which is why his copy has arrived so quickly. I hope to visit Alec again in the new year and this is one I am most excited to see and hold myself.
Alec considers this the finest Suntup production so far, not just in quality of materials used, but the entire design and how it has been conceived are superb. Also, beautifully staged for the photo if I may say so Alec!

HELP ME FIND
Insomnia #459
ANY S/L #459
Thank you Simon and thank you gentlemen for the comments.
I will be interested to see the feedback from the other recipients of this book. All of Paul’s editions are spectacular in conception, design and quality, this particular edition in my opinion is a masterpiece. Sometimes you find a production where all the elements involved are faultless. As far as I am concerned this is that production. Sheer brilliance.
Thank you Kris, The Hobbit for all it’s eighty years is remarkable. It must have been shelved, boxed or stored and never touched. A very lucky find.
A Happy and Peaceful Christmas to you all and a Happy and Healthy New Year.
Great additions, Alec and congrats!
You don't know my kind.....You don't my mind.....Dark necessities are part of my design.....
Very lovely Hobbit and nice Suntup, of course!
Wanted: Human skin edition of The Book of the Dead. Will accept PC copy.
Thank you both.
Thought you might appreciate The Hobbit, Becca, I wish a UK copy was available in the same condition!!
I love the Hobbit, and the map looks as good as new! Amazing find.
The lettered Rosemary's Baby looks like one of those rarest of the rare where not only is it a stunning and inspired production, but you also feel that the design _fits_ the book precisely. Form and spirit together!
SUPERAMAZING !!!

Reading this whole thread a few months ago left me speechless and the newer additions keep doing it. Amazing collection!
Amazing additions, Alec. And that copy of The Hobbit - gorgeous ...
Thank you all for the comments and input, much appreciated.
I have added some King items over the last couple of months, however as it is for sale it almost seems counterproductive, nonetheless you all will understand, “I just cannot resist”.
The Hobbit is unusual due to its remarkable condition, Rosemary’s Baby is just bloody remarkable.
Kindest regards
Alec.
Thank you Tim.
The dust jacket after 81 years probably fits your description perfectly, not a blemish. The book is without flaws of any kind.
I did not find this copy, someone sourced it for me and I thought the description of “perfect” highly unlikely until I received it.
If only a few more 80 year old books were available like that!!!
AMAZING, Alec! Congrats!
