A get-together thread
This thread is just to gauge interest in some sort of tdt.org get-together. I'd also like suggestions as to timing and place. After we have suggestions I can add a poll so we can see what is the most viable solution for the most people.I'll also likely be starting a thread somewhere other than Calvin's Corner at some point too.

True, but maybe a small gathering could be arranged with advance notice of when and where you'll be visiting.
Personally for the forseeable future I'll be unable to attend any gathering that isn't planned for Lumberton, NC.We have lots of local attractions though such as project type neighborhoods, trailer parks, and crop fields. I know y'all are excited now about a gathering here. LOL

If "gambling" is important do Lake Tahoe, It's really nice, with a lot more to offer. IMHO

Ive never been to Lake Tahoe so dont really know what it has to offer but I like Vegas 'cause there is lots more to do than just gambling. Also, the hotel rates are great if you block out a bunch of rooms for a "convention" Summer time is nasty and hot tho, but the only time your really outside is when walking from one place to another.
January thru April is not impossible for me but tougher because of work demands. Major holidays are out (Christmas, Thanksgiving etc). So any time other than that I can make it happen.

Vegas isn't a bad place for a convention certainly. Wrath White has been doing Killercon the last couple of years there and there are some pretty reasonable hotels and cheap flights there.
Was Palavercon a few years back through the board here or something else? If so, has there been thoughts to have another one. That could certainly be a good way to get together.

I'm with you TN. I've been to my share of "clubs" especially with clients (mostly from BOA in S.F.), but I never really saw the point of it. You get all revved up with no place to go!!! LOL At least in my case anyway!!!

I vote Vegas as well. Though I suppose I should add the obligatory "Phoenix"!!! 'Frisco is tempting. Such a beautiful town and I wouldn't be averse to NYC!!!
Just a thought, but with the WWW couldn't we sort of "Broadcast" parts of the event? I'm the last one to organize anything of that nature, but we do have a few "Computer-Guys" on the boards. That way "Virtually" everyone can attend!!!
