I don't know enough of Lorre's work to be able to vote for him but those are some strong films he was in. I'm going to have to give my nod to Sam Jackson. He's a pretty versatile actor and his screen presence is second to none. While he might be the strongest actor he's delivers in pretty much any role he's given.

My nominee PETER LORRE ! His acting in M is incredible.
M is still the role model for all later - psychological crime movies,like Hitchcocks Psycho, Finschers Seven an others. An crime movie about a child rapist in the year 1931 that showed that the killer is not an ´crazy-animal´ ..... outstanding for this time. For me.... one of the top 10 movies of all time...

No struck on Tim Roth to be honest, seems to phone in all his work. (may just be me, but since I saw him in Skellig I have gone right off him.

I love Tom Hanks, but he will eb the most popular nominee, and to be honest, although i love everything he has done he has not blown me away, and william SHATner, hmmmmmm well best not to got there for fear of offending

He has taken on a lot of different roles with varying degrees of success. I don't think that makes him a great actor. You can say that there are some good points about most of his performances, but that doesn't outweigh all of the bad points. I think it would have been better for the cinema if he had focused on doing maybe only a few more parts really well instead of getting many that he could phone in for extra paychecks.
