It looks good to me.
Even IF the sig is legit (I have no idea), who the heck wants a Laserdisc? I had one in 1988, but it is long gone.

Reported. How many would it take for eBay to take it down?
I don't know what, but I feel that as a community there must be SOMETHING real we can do about chronic offenders that might make them take notice (as opposed to just reporting to ebay).
Isn't forgery is a federal offence in the US or are there different degrees of the crime? Either way, it is a crime. Not only is it straight up stealing from inexperienced collectors (which is frustrating enough) but it harms long term futures. I read somewhere once that there are so many Confederate fakes of Civil War items flooding the market that even experienced collectors are just too gun-shy to purchase anything.
When you look at the number of fakes on ebay on any given day, it just seems that we could be on a path where a similar thing could happen to King collecting (if it hasn't already).

These sellers will likely never go away. Brennan was reported by several members here a month or so ago, and then all of his listings disappeared. Well, obviously he's back again. As much as I'd like to see him gone for good, I have serious doubts as to whether that's going to happen.
Well...one thing we could do is have people on here list stephen king items IDENTICAL to his but maybe slightly less in price. What this will do is bring those potential buyers that he is duping to "check out YOUR auction" as well...(because it's cheaper and stuff). And in your description you "slander" brennan" and pretty much tell potential SK buyers that all his shit is fake...and also redirect them to our website here....OR!...just link the "questionable items, fakes and questionable sellers.
What do you guys think???
G
We gotta hit this guy where it hurts!
SHIT...we can just make multiple ebay accounts and BUY all his shit but never pay...then just tell ebay that you DID pay...and just tie up all his items and Final auction value refunds for weeks///months!!!

I appreciate your "good intentions" and zeal, but wouldn't that be resorting to similar tactics, albeit with good intentions? I say we just keep reporting him and of course, bashing him here. It may have more affect than you think. Look at the site "online" numbers from the last two King releases!!! We are growing as a trusted resource!!! All Hail, RF, the catalog and our collective reputation!!! LOL LOL LOL

I agree with Merlin. The necessary tactics would diminish our credibility with the "real" SK collectors.

The best and most efficient thing we can do is be here for people who have questions about an item. It is fun to fantasize about fucking with fraudulent sellers but the effort involved over time is wasteful, and more importantly, futile.
While I personally am not qualified to write the FBI on this situation based on not knowing enough about Mr. Kings signature (The reason I joined this forum.). If someone with all the facts, and can identify the differences they can send an email to Baltimore@ic.fbi.gov to get the ball rolling to see what can happen. I say contact the Baltimore branch based on the fact the seller (Allstarbooks) from what I see is from Cumberland, Maryland.
The FBI has no interest, no time and no care about an ebay seller with a few "questionable" King sigs.
Homeland Security, however will protect the NFL brand.

Yeah it sucks to see scumbags like Brennan, but there's only so much we can do. If we keep posting his garbage and a number of us here report his items when they go back up, that may keep his "damage" and profit to a minimum.
I think I'm actually going to call ebay and voice my concern over this. Reporting single items are one thing but there's no Report option that involves repeat offenders and obviously intentional fraud, and maybe talking to a person about it will have more weight.
Someone should direct him to this thread, so he knows there is a large group of people on to him. Might shame him in to stopping. Probably wont, but you never know.
Something about the "g" doesn't seem right. Thoughts?
Newly listedStephen King Author " It " Signed 3x5 Index Card AUTO
My only question is who the hell forges on an index card. If I were going to do a forgery I'd do it on what the person was famous for ...book, art, record, whatever. It's not like people are gonna shell out thousands or hundreds even for an index card.
When I looked at this auction yesterday the first thing that popped in my mind was a baseball card show I attended in the 80's, and there was a class on spotting fake signatures. They had photos of this workshop that had signatures in-between glass with like 6 lights under it, and all they did was fake index cards. The reason was for the index cards back then, and really even now is for framing purposes. The newer addition is having the index cards sent out for authentication, and grading. This kind of card would of been what they would of included in the frame with the Real Stephen King Roof Shingles.
An index card except perhaps in the case of a superrare signature would hold no appeal for me. Everyone's different though.
