If it was gilt, wouldn't it by definition be gold or golden in color?
I think it is actually: Gold RGB color code = #FFD700 = 255*65536+215*256+0 = (255, 215, 0)
The answer is:
Gold RGB color code = #FFD700 = 255*65536+215*256+0 = (255, 215, 0)

Question solved.... it's a 1st/1st, I bought it, I own it.

Now I don't understand why the spine question? when the book is clearly marked FIRST EDITION

Thanks for the opinion....have one more question.....just found out that the book in question is a paperback, what would you all say a paperback, probably not first edition but with a legit sig is worth?
I usually stick to hardback firsts, i am only still considering it because theperson could really use the money, so trying to help them out, and getting a signed King book doesn't hurt either.
I just don't want to spend to much !
Congratulations, Cook! Cross one off the 2013 collecting goals. Good for you!
Nameless - if a paperback I personally wouldnt pay more than 50- and only because that sig is a nice one. If its an ARC tho would be worth a lot more

Quick question.
I read on here something about the original dust jacket price on ...Nightshift??? maybe. Something about DoubleDay putting a sticker price over original printed price or something???

There were a bunch of Night Shift book club editions with price stickers, I believe. IIRC, Bob posted one in the One For The Road publishing history in his collection thread.
Now hold on there. As I recall, didn't the initial print run fall short of demand for "Night Shift"? Then the distributors took xxxxx copies designated for BOMC (still 1/1 with code and all) and convert them to "trade" editions by adding a price to the DJ? I may be off a little on the details, but I'm pretty sure that overall that is correct.

Wow, I am out of date here it seems, I stand/sit corrected, ty Merlin for setting me straight. I do now remember something about that, it's just been far too long since I looked into those kind of details. Maybe this information (if verifiable) should be added to the catalog entry for Nightshift?
