Since the Stephen King narration for Dark Tower 1 is only on an obsolete media (essentially), does anyone know of a active link where I can get a listen to it? I've spent a significant number of hours looking for it, but haven't found the SK narration. A legitimate option would be optimal if available. Gunslinger IS the only on that King narrated, yes? PM me if you wish.

I believe he did TWTTK as well.

I just purchased a signed book that has some speckling on the top page block. Is there a way to clean this?

I've read that a very fine grit sanding can help with minor foxing. I'm not sure that it is something that I'd do, but it is something I've heard discussed at least. If you're tempted to try, I would certainly try it out on a junk book first to see how it behaves. The 'ridges' in the segments here make me think this won't work very well for this particular book.

Sanding can help, but usually the stain actually creeps a bit into the page front/back a bit.

I have II and III on tape narrated by King. I know I have IV around here somewhere but they seem to be in hiding.

TCC is correct and Jerome provided the link to the discussion.

Your book doesn't have a smooth edge. Sanding will result in a smooth edge. Perhaps that's acceptable? I would add that using a book press or a decent clamping system is essential prior to sanding. Also it takes time and patience. Less is better, a little at a time, slow and steady, etc.. Also as stated before you should practice first.

Thanks for the input, guys. The book was described as VG, and given the speckling, the condition is accurate. I'm afraid to try sanding it, though, and risk damaging it more. I figure once I get a slipcase made, and won't see the top of the book, I'll end up just forgetting about it anyway.

You can use a sponge eraser to remove the soiling. Brodart sells them.

I think most of us buy them online directly from Brodart. They have regular sales. Not sure they're something that would be regularly stocked in brick and mortar stores, but perhaps I'm wrong.

Might not be the best place to ask about this, but who else noticed the comment in the stephenking.com newsletter "with The End of Watch and the Mr. Mercedes Trilogy Boxset comin in June"? I wonder if this will be limited or just a box set of later printings/editions of the trade editions...

I'd guess some form of PB's in a slipcase? Of course, 1/1's of that edition, naturally. Other guesses?

I find them here in Austin at Book People which is an Indy store. Might check a local bookstore near you. I however just buy them direct from Brodart's website.

Probably not paperbacks, given that it's coming out the same month as End of Watch in hardcover. I suspect a box set of whatever printings are available at the time.

I usually use ebay as well. Even when Brodart has sales their shipping is high and it works out to much more than I can get them elsewhere.

Thanks for the tip guys! I never thought of using eBay for Brodart protectors before. Lords knows I'm on there more than enough already anyway...
