I purchased 1-7 a year ago for $9075. I then tracked down the owner of LSOE and TWTTKH. He offered a straight up trade, but I threw in $200 to but him a dinner for being so nice. So, I have $9275 invested in the entire set. Still paying back the loan I took out to buy them, but it was worth it.Congrats... I am wondering if I should sell my set of #576 to get one under #500 matching... do you mind if I ask what it set you back? thanks

Wow... that is a stellar price. Especially if they are fine/fine. I was offered $8000 for my set and I am missing the first two in numbers. There are fine 1st/1sts however. I've owned 4 partial sets and it always annoyed me that I couldn't find the missing pieces. As a result, sold all 4 sets and recently acquired......well.....stay tuned to the New Pride and Joy thread over the next week or so....I have to ask.. would or does it bother you that you cannot have a matchable set ever? It is killing me and I am down to needing one book in my number!
It's all a matter of personal preference. Some collectors simply could care less as to whether or not their #'s matched.
Others, like me, couldn't sleep at night. Ok, may be a bit of an exaggeration but you get my point...

I'm one of those who doesn't really care if the numbers match or not. I have II-VII plus Little Sisters and Wind. V through Wind have essentially matching numbers, but it doesn't bother me that the set is not matching.
