In my opinion, it's incredibly repetitive with bloated writing and unnecessary details (I get that that's the point, but I don't need to have 5 pages describing what Patrick Bateman's outfit is every day).

I tend to agree. It was the point, but the means of getting it across were not perfect. The book was hardly readable; but when finally read, it leaves a very good impression nevertheless.What's NOT wrong with it?
