Oh, I lose myself too, but I'm the sort that needs a radio or tv blaring, people shouting, dogs barking, traffic noises.
And that is accounted for by inhuman amounts of intoxicating substances. Imagine a cop asking for your name and you having to pull out your id to tell him cause you don't know. This is where I was at.

The Houston Astros cheated Major League Baseball from 2017-18!!!! Is that how we teach our kids to play the game now?????
I officially hate everyone who has read, is reading, or is about to read WTtK in the next future
Ask not what bears can do for you, but what you can do for bears. (razz)
When one is in agreement with bears one is always correct. (mae)

Man, I'm glad I finished it yesterday. So since I am neither reading nor intending to read it in the near future, we're good right?

They made us many promises, more than I can remember, but they never kept but one; they promised to take our land, and they did.

Has anyone read the Kim Harrison The Hollows series? Rachel Morgan? I hear it and Anita Blake are very similar, and I'm not sure which ones to read.
"So many vows. They make you swear and swear. Defend the King, obey the King, obey your father, protect the innocent, defend the weak. But what if your father despises the King? What if the King massacres the innocent? It's too much. No matter what you do, you're forsaking one vow or another."
It has been on my shelves for a couple of months, so Dan Simmons' latest is next:

That's what caught my eye too.

I liked it well enough. I read that and Abe Lincoln Vamp Hunter this week, I liked them both. Nothing very substantial, though.
I'm reading The Joy Luck Club, just because I never have read the whole thing. I'm gonna pick up the Rachel Morgan series here soon.

I loved the Tim Stoutheart story, the rest was just filler, to me. Maybe sai King should read Tales of Dunk and Egg and get an idea, it's kind of what he was trying to do, I think.

I just got to the Tim Southeart portion last night, only about one or two pages in.
I'm loving Roland's story so far, to be honest. Perhaps I'm being a bit biased, but I'm fascinated with anything Roland pre-Gunslinger. It's great being able to read his thought processes and his doubts through his own perspective, knowing the man he'll eventually become. Lurve it.
I'll give my full assessment once I'm finished. Do we have a thread dedicated to WTTK discussion?
We do. I think it's called "General TWTTK Discussion" or something like that. It's in The Oracle (I think?)
EDIT: Nope, not the Oracle. Here it is:
