The Girl on the Train had a surprising opening weekend gross of $25 million. I predict TDT movie will have an opening gross of less than $10 million.
Quote me.

There's no comparison between the two.
TGOTT is a slow burning, cerebral mystery-thriller starring a B+ celebrity.
TDT is an effects heavy blockbuster that you can turn your brain off to and eat popcorn with. As others mentioned, it also satiates the hunger for the next possible Big Hollywood Franchise.
I'm going to quote you so we can have this conversation again in March
I'm gonna say it will open with $35-40M. I hope they do IMAX, too.
IMAX screenings should boost the total by at least $5 mil.
My prediction is in the $25-$30 range.
Are we talking about a movie's opening box-office pull, or horses at the racetrack?
You guys think we'll hear The High Speech in the movie? That would be cool
A hound will die for you, but never lie to you. And he'll look you straight in the face.

Did he say that? I thought he said...
Spoiler:
All bets are off with this film. I think that was a genius move.

Can we move past the 'White Privilege" bullshit and face the fact that Roland will now be (in the film anyway) an Englishman
You don't know my kind.....You don't my mind.....Dark necessities are part of my design.....
When he spoke in the high language it dies have a Yorkshire hint in it...
Seeing Roland lapse into more idiomatic usage of his language when under stress would be appreciated.
