    I agree with you Bill.
I'm sure if there is intelligent life somewhere out there in the universe, they are wise enough to stay away from us.

I haven't seen anybody else talk about it, but I just saw Tomorrowland.

Tomorrowland was one of my most anitcipated films of the year. I really like Brad Bird's fims, so I was looking forward to this one. Unfotunately, it has received some very mixed reviews. This caused me to lower my expectations. As a byproduct, I ended up enjoying the film more than most. In fact, I'm not quite sure why so many people disliked it. It certainly doesn't live up to the expectations many were bestowing on it, but it's a competant (for the most part) film.

Honestly, the best part of the film is a young actress by the name of Raffey Cassidy. She is certainly one to keep an eye. She was probably the highlight of the film for me.

I'd say see it if there's nothing else you want to see at the movies and on a bargain day if possible. Waiting to rent it might not be a bad idea, but the special effects and visuals make it the kind of film that benefits from being seen in a theater.

It was a toss up last weekend between Tomorrowland and Poltergeist. I think I heard more against TL than anything at all about the latter, so I choose Poltergeist.
I know, I know. How could I choose another run-of-the-mill remake over the latest Bird film? Mostly it was Damon Lindelof, who I am becoming less and less impressed with the more I see of his "work". Still, I hope to see Tomorrowland sometime this weekend. It certainly couldn't be any worse than Poltergeist, right?

Mine too. I haven't seen it yet, but I've heard a lot of negative things about it, which I'm trying to not let influence me before I see it.

Going to edit my original response and say that I don't have any desire to watch it in theaters. I'm sure I'll catch it on Netflix someday.

There's just nothing about it that screams Must See! The action seems very by the numbers. Overly Disneyfied humor. Not to mention it's written by Damon Uneven Writing Lindelof. Bird hasn't earned the tag of must watch directors for me. Not yet. Sadly, it doesn't seem as if this will be the film to stem that tide.

My biggest problem with Tomorrowland is the fact that we just don't spend a whole lot of time in Tomorrowland. It seemed like such a cool place. I just wanted to explore it. I guess I just thought we'd see more of it because it's the name of the film.

We saw Mad Max: Fury Road last night. It was a fine popcorn movie. The inflated tomato rating sort of set the expectations high. 3/5 for me. More of a renter. Just one couple's opinion.

I liked TOMORROWLAND. The best part was when I had to turn around and ask the kid behind me to quit kicking the seat.

Unfortunately, those coming to the Mad Max party late are bound to be disappointed. The hype machine is in full gear.

I loved it and I can't wait to buy it on Blu-ray, especially since seeing all the great CGI work the film employed. The mixture of CGI and practical effects might be the best ever utilized.

I was also reminded of one of my favorite scenes from Fury Road. It's a really interesting scene when Max sees the five beautiful women cleaning themselves and drinking water. I just love the look on Max's face. I can't tell if he is yearning after the women or the water.

Movies like MM:FR must be experienced in the largest format possible. Seeing it on a comparatively small 70" TV does not do a film like this justice.

Reasons I no longer look at reviews or ratings before going to see a movie anymore. Over hype / extra high expectations for a film can really taint the experience.

Yeah, no hyperbole. And I'm not even saying best action or sci-fi - this is really up there with all the great dramas and award-winning foreign films of the last five years. It was pretty much an art-house film masquerading as an action movie. There's barely any dialog, the plot and the characters are revealed through action, costumes, even cinematography. It's beautifully shot and the editing is second to none. There's a message and a deeper meaning than simply its cool visuals. I really can't find any fault in the film.

The last movie I saw was SAN ANDREAS (edit - in 3 Dimensions!). I liked it, but they did something near the end I can't forgive them for, even though it fit nicely into the 'plot', which was sort of thin. But I love disaster movies.
