Quest? Or Guest?
Should this even be an article, and if so, it certainly needs to be formatted properly. The pics and info are wonderful, just not sure what to do with it.

This could possibly be considered for the S/L collectors list.
I am in contact with a representative of Hodder & Stoughton and am endeavouring to get more info on the event and what exactly what the story was behind the tipped in signature sheets (and why some books were given out with loose laid sheets on the following day.)
I'll update with any info I get.
"A real limited edition, far from being an expensive autograph stapled to a novel, is a treasure. And like all treasures do, it transforms the responsible owner into a caretaker, and being a caretaker of something as fragile and easily destroyed as ideas and images is not a bad thing but a good one...and so is the re-evaluation of what books are and what they do that necessarily follows." - Stephen King
According to Mr. Rabbit Trick some of these loose bookplates were handed out the day before the party....This leads to the question.....Why were these even handed out?.....Unless they were leftovers from RSVP headcount.IMHO
I've had some feedback from H & S.
Katie Davison (contact on the invite) is no longer with the company and hasn't been for some time. My contact was intrigued as to why I was looking for the info, but having explained how this kind of event detail is important to us collectors, she has said she will try and find out what she can.

This should not be in the signed limiteds... sorry... I don't agree.
HELP ME FIND
Insomnia #459
ANY S/L #459
Currently it's not in the S/L list, it's in the 'Stephen King Collectible Books" section. Jury is out at the moment on whether this should be considered a 'true' signed Limited, however, if it can be proved that books with tipped in sheets were ONLY given away at this party, then there are precedents, such as NLR. If a specific quantity were created specifically for this event, then that would add some weight as well.
Also (IMHO) its on a par with the S/L Shining from TFS and other H & S 'official' S/L that are unnumbered with a signed tipped in sheet.

That doesn't mean they weren't intended just for the Guest event. H&S might have expected more people to attend and asked SK to sign X amount of bookplates. Only some of these ended up being glued into books. the extras may have been distributed adhoc on the 7th and 9th.
