Tall, thin and pale, Rimer reminds Roland of Doctor Death. The top of his head is completely bald, but along the sides were wings of iron-gray hair. Rimer wore a pair of pince-nez spectacles, and had the voice that sounded like either a politician or an undertaker.

Rimer looted Hambry’s treasury, giving Farson what he didn’t keep for himself. Rimer was also the one responsible for bringing the Big Coffin Hunters to Hambry and for suggesting that Rhea of the Cöos would be a good keeper for the pink Bend o’ the Rainbow they were carrying.

Rimer made an enemy of Clay Reynolds early on. Upon seeing Clay’s long silk-lined cloak, Rimer called him Sai Manto, an insult implying homosexuality.

When it was time to kill Rimer and Mayor Thorin, Clay remembered this insult, and took great pleasure in dispatching Rimer to the clearing at the end of the path.
