Gilead is a fictional place in author Stephen King's
The Dark Tower series. Gilead is the barony seat of New Caanan, and the hub of In-World.
By the time Roland set out for Hambry, Gilead, with a population estimated around 10,000, was the last great city of Mid-World. Gilead was divided into two towns: Lower Town, which contained brothels and other attractions of the lower classes, and the Old Quarter, visible from the battlements of the castle. Gilead's court color was dark blue. The city's pennons were decorated by the image of Llamrei, the horse of Arthur Eld.
