I just received my UK edition of Joyland. Both the US and UK have the same ISBN. Other than the statement on the copyright page regarding the printer, they are almost identical. My UK copy is slightly smaller in vertical size (about a 1/4") and has a yellower paper. Pagination is also identical for both.

Received my UK Joyland today courtesy of Alan and thought I'd post the slight difference in height and page color here:

You don't know my kind.....You don't my mind.....Dark necessities are part of my design.....
SO, it has come to light there ARE 2 different UK and Us first editions of the paperback. Both have the same ISBN number but a differing ISBN13 Number. The books differ slightly in size (The UK edition is smaller) Also the copyright page differs with regard to the print information. We should expand this info into a new entry for the UK version as per other books in the UK catalog.
EDIT: I see this info has already been posted by Niels - apologies for not checking the earlier pages of the thread.
"A real limited edition, far from being an expensive autograph stapled to a novel, is a treasure. And like all treasures do, it transforms the responsible owner into a caretaker, and being a caretaker of something as fragile and easily destroyed as ideas and images is not a bad thing but a good one...and so is the re-evaluation of what books are and what they do that necessarily follows." - Stephen King
