If the book doesn't come with the exact (unclipped) dustjacket it doesn't meet the requirements. If one had 10 hardbacks that seemed to be firsts it doesn't matter without the DJ's. Hopefully (strange desire) someone will have a true first and a different BC hardback sans DJ.

Anyone know the specific date The Dead Zone was released? I found some signed copies that were dated 9/9/79 and then another couple 9/20/79. So I'm assuming somewhere around the 9th of August, 1979. If anyone knows I'd sure appreciate it

My Dead Zone is inscribed and dated 31 July 1979.

Wow! Thanks and totally cool! Think it could be a prerelease copy that SK gave away? Or maybe the book actually came out late July and everyone assumes it came out in August.
