Nice. Never had a "Steve" signature, only seen them. Just bought a copy dated 9/20/1979. Pretty early. Makes sense about the August 30th release date, since most of the early dates out there in the world seem to be in September. I got on a kick checking about this kind of thing because a while ago I found a copy of Jaws by Peter Benchley that was signed and dated on the day of release. Haven't had a similar experience with Stephen King, but you never know. Anyway, thanks to all.
Hope someone can clarify:
On the DJ, mine has the Madison Ave address. However, on the CP, it states a 40 West 23 Street address for The Viking Press. Otherwise CP is exactly the same (no numberline), but with only one empty line instead of two between "Set in CRT Garamond" and "The Lyrics on..." it seems.
Is this a 1st/1st or not?
The book is not.
Thanks. Do you know what it is, then? Because I do also have a 1st/3rd, which does have the Madison Ave address, but also a numberline ending with 3. So it seems later prints do have a numberline.
Most likely a Book Club Edition.
But they are the same size. BCE is smaller: http://www.fedpo.com/BookDetail.php/The-Dead-Zone
I'll stick with my opinion that it isn't a true 1st edition, 1st printing. As to whether or not it's a BCE, it's somewhat irrelevant, as (IMO) it isn't a 1st/1st.
Thanks
Was just wondering if someone knew for sure what edition this would be, or if anyone else has got a similar one.
