As for the limited edition of The Eyes of the Dragon, there were actually at least three lotteries. The second lottery was conducted to sell the copies that remained unclaimed after the first, and the third was for the remaining copies. I was lucky enough to get picked in the second lottery. I got #350.

A single "check copy" bore the handwritten legend "This is Jeff Connor's personal Check Copy/One signature was reprinted, and the poster reprinted as well./This is a one of one edition hand bound./In goat skin in Santa Cruz for promotional use /Jeff Connor Publisher." One of the most visually striking King books. Scream Press underestimated production costs and instead of making a name for themselves, went bankrupt.

Lord John Press produced 26 lettered, 250 Deluxe (quarter bound leather, orange marlbled paper), and 1,000 numbered (quarter bound cloth, with printed boards). An indeterminate number of copies in at least four presentation states were also produced. A book small in stature and short on word count, the presentation was nonetheless striking.
