    None that are inexpensive.
UPS will be several hundred dollars.

USPS said they can only insure it for $650 and that's using Express.
Guaranteed delivery in 2 days. She said FedEx actually handles it most of the way.

Sounds decent enough, but if they lost or damaged it, I don't want to be the one responsible for the buyer's compensation!

I'm always happy to do this as well for people and have a number of times. I ship a number of things overseas regularly so no big deal there.

Scoogs you could try a company called Shipsure for the insurance cover seperate to the shipping. They are on the web.

I don't know about Shipsure, but there is a company called Shipsurance that should be able to help.

I'm not sure if Shipsure is now Shipsurance as I tried to find Shipsure and I can't find them. It was only about a month ago that I found Shipsure when trying to get blanket insurance cover for shipping my sculptures and artwork but they couldn't cover me because they only cover people shipping from US and Canada to other countries. Very good prices though, I remeber it was going to be less than $3 per sculpture and I could ship using any company such as Fedex, UPS etc. Sadly no such company in the UK. I may have their website saved or written something down, I'll have a look and report back...

Yeah so after looking in my bookmarked links it is in fact Shipsurance and I just got the name kerfuddled. Definitely check them out though Scoogs.

Oh well, worth a try. Not sure what else I can suggest. I ended up having to go to a specialist insurer to cover my goods in transit because I couldn't get cover any other way. Even finding a specialist proved to be a few months of hunting around and the one I finally did get cover with took a bit of back and forth and them having to customise their policy wording and T&C's. Nothing short of a nightmare and in the end it cost me over £900 for 12months cover but it does cover all my equipment, stock, goods in transit, product liability etc etc.

The only thing I can come up with is to search for goods in transit insurers and contact them.

This request is a bit outside the box.

Any US based members out there with no moral objections to lying on a package declaration?

There is an awesome online Cigar shop that sells sample packs of 25 cigars for $49usd. Problem is NZ customs charge HORRENDOUS tax/duty fees on tobacco here, and a friend of mine got stung with a $900 fee when he imported two of these packs. I've been told that if they are sent as a Gift however, you can avoid the fees if you are lucky.

I'm looking for someone who would be happy to have me send a pack to them, and have you then send it to me with the package showing as a gift. I have a birthday coming up in Jan, so birthday wrapping may help sell that story.

Anyway, if you think you would be keen to try this on for me, PM me and maybe we can work something out...

    Cheers!

Do you want the lie to be about the contents, the value, or the item being a gift? Or all three?

At a minimum, it being a Gift as opposed to a standard purchase. I've been told that can be enough to get it through. That being said, I'm not sure if just saying "birthday present" instead of "cigars" on the contents section of any form would get through. If so, that would probably be worth a try too. The value isn't the issue.

Yeah that might work. Again, I think its the Birthday Gift that seals the deal to avoid fees, if at all. As far as I understand it, they probably scan the package anyway and will most likely know there is cigars inside anyway

someone please explain to me how Amazon can ship me a book for 8 bucks using the same international shipping services that everyone on ebay uses, but from them costs around $30 ???

Just pre-ordered Mr Mercedes and got it for less then $30 shipped to the UK.

Amazon actually has a separate contract with USPS. They are currently negotiating to have Sunday deliveries all year.
