I'll admit I really liked the frontispiece for Rose Madder. I don't have $2500, but that would be a great piece to own.

My girlfriend is going to Germany next month...Does anyone know which is the edition of Bag of Bones that has the illustration?
Wanted list:

Wilhelm Heyne (Germany)..
i would say that this is the 1st edition... title is SARA
i think that this is the cover of the 1t german ed:
MrRabbitTrick: i only knew that it was in the french edition, but just before creating the catalog Lilja had a contest and it was part of the question... lol ;-)
you are british... do you know a british ed. which have the frontispiece?
in fact, all the french editions have it (i mean.... at least the 1st ed and pockets... but if the pockets have it i guess that they all have it, would make sense, na?)
Received today:
Mark Geyer's print for The Green Mile. Signed in pencil by him.
A really cool illustration (if not the best of the whole book) that's worth the money!
Wanted list:

That is totally sweet.

Hey folks,
I've got a Q&A up with Mark Geyer (the illustrator for the limited edition Green Mile). He's also agreed to take fan questions, for a 2n'd Q&A next month.
If you'd like to take a read and/or submit questions you'd like Mark to answer head on over.

If I see any questions posted on this thread I'll include them as well.
Thanks much,

Most excellent. Thanks.
I'm a little surprised, so far no questions here or from my site.... No one's interested in asking Mark anything? Either about his work specifically or perhaps something general that would apply to other illustrators?
Not that I'm trying to badger you guys Just surprised at the overall response.
Thanks much,

Ok, here's one for him.
Who are your favorite artists?
OK, Tomas, sorry for that
Mark:
1) What was your biggest challenge with regard to illustrating The Green Mile?
2) Prior to doing the artwork for the book, a) had you read the story already? b) had you seen the movie starring Tom Hanks and had to contend with images already planted in your mind's eye?
Thanks.
David
Dragline : Nothin'. A handful of nothin'. You stupid mullet head. He beat you with nothin'. Just like today when he kept comin' back at me - with nothin'.
Luke : Yeah, well, sometimes nothin' can be a real cool hand.
Are there any specific authors and/or books that you would to illustrate?
"...that Siren which called and sang and promised so much and gave, after all, so little." ~ Ray Bradbury
Where do you get your ideas?
i wonder if you'd ask it to SK
no, u'd probably ask : can i get some of your DNA?
- For Mark Geyer:
Why did you only make one illustration for Rose Madder & Bag of bones?
How did you decide what to illustrate about those books..
and finally: Why the illustration of Bag of Bones isnt in the american ed?
:-)
Keep going the nice artwork!

Wondering if anyone here obtained the Bag of Bones frontispiece?
I believe Bob owns it, could be wrong though.
Here are pictures of both frontispieces that Mark did, unframed and framed, for BAG OF BONES and ROSE MADDER.
Absolutely stunning! Shows how good matting and framing can turn a piece of art into something that is museum quality.
