Stage one of the surgery to create a fistula on the inside of my upper arm to have a port for possible future dialysis. 22 staples.
Warning! not for the squeamish.
Spoiler:
Good luck from me also, but I will decline your invitation to look.
I'm sure if there is intelligent life somewhere out there in the universe, they are wise enough to stay away from us.
And the people bowed and prayed, to the cell phone god they made...
Will you be Borg when this is over?
Best of luck to you.

Jerome, I had no idea when we talked the other day. Wishing you the best with this!

It's been a rough couple of months. In early November, following a bad slip and fall, I fractured my sacroiliac (sacrum). It was a very painful disabling injury. For 10 days I was bed ridden, then had to use a walker for 2 weeks. Much like broken ribs, there is little that can be done. The prescribed therapy is rest, painkillers, and time. This is followed up by physical therapy.
I've gotten to the point I can walk without assistance for about 300 feet. Slowly but surely I am getting better. Thanks for the concern.
Hang in there, Jerome.
And send those unused painkillers to me!
Just kidding (I think).

Not to create a stir, but this may be my last hurrah. If anyone has noticed, I haven't even put up a thread/contribute button, to keep the site ad free and vibrant.
I spend out of pocket over $1,500 a year for hosting, URL renewal, and hardware upgrades to the server/servers needed to host this site.
Traffic is down, but this is still the greatest, most informative, most encyclopedic Stephen King site on the web.
I'd love to hear some encouragement, perhaps in a different thread.
Hope you're feeling better soon Jerome. Wishing you a speedy recovery!
Only the gentle are ever really strong.
Hopefully reading you wrong, and that the last hurrah you're talking about isn't about your health. Would hate to lose your running of the site and contributions to the community, but would be far worse to lose you.
WANT LIST: Any SK #186; Dark Man Unbound 1st Proof; FDNS Unbound 1st Proof; FDNS Black Tape Spine Proof; FDNS Unbound Color Proof
Please get feeling better soon, boss! Good vibes.
Hope you're feeling a lot better now, J!
There's no other place in the internet like this one about SK. Period. In my opinion the Contribute button should always be up and available. No need to giveaway anything IMO. If we are 75 active members, just $20 each would cover it.Not to create a stir, but this may be my last hurrah. I'm hanging on there. My latest fun thing is peripheral edema (swelling of lower legs). They have me on diuretics and it's helping a bit.
