I'm three episodes into season 2 of Castle Rock and am loving it so far (even more than season 1). Lizzy Caplan is nailing Annie. Her performance really matches up with Kathy Bates's without being an imitation.
A NEW GAME BEGINS
Everybody should watch I'm Sorry on Netflix. How is this show not a huge deal? It is a hilarious masterpiece. I only found out about it as a recommendation from a friend.
I generally hate when networks produce something that looks unconventionally promising because they tend to make things too "networky" (generic and weak, the opposite of gritty and realistic) and the lost potential is mighty frustrating. I was particularly afraid of this with Hannibal, but somehow they didn't botch it - the whole series was great, the characters, the acting, the writing, the atmosphere, the music, every single dimension of it, I wouldn't have changed a thing (except not to cancel it!). Mikkelsen is simultaneously cultured and charismatic, yet intimidating and terrifying.
Enjoy.
You can't be aloof until you advertise.

I’m very late to the party but I’m going through Deadwood for the first time. Finished S1 on Amazon before it was taken off Prime and just picked up the Bluray set a few weeks ago. Going to get into S2 tomorrow.
I’m deep into Season 3 of Twin Peaks. It’s very different from the first two seasons. It’s quite strange. It’s also excellent.
All episodes are written by Mark Frost and David Lynch, and all episodes are directed by Lynch. It really shows: every scene has a purpose and there’s a consistency of tone throughout. It’s great.
You can also tell that everyone involved is absolutely thrilled to be there - particularly the returning cast after 25 years.

Did anyone catch the Jude Law show The Third Day on HBO? I have no clue what is going on, but I'm intrigued enough to stick around.

I just started watching Halt and Catch Fire on Netflix. I heard a lot of good things about it when it was on AMC and always meant to watch it but just never got around to it.
It's funny because I'm a computer guy and I usually like TV shows about computers. Mr Robot, Silicon Valley, ect... Through the first 3 episodes so far and it's pretty good.
I really like the fact that it's set in the early 80's and people are just completely shocked that someone wants to build a computer that weighs less than 15 lbs and is portable!
Hearts are tough, she said, most times hearts don't break, and I'm sure that's right . . . but what about then? What about who we were then? What about hearts in Atlantis?
Any Ramy fans here? I'm really enjoying that one. Very interesting comedy unlike anything else on TV.
