Was just declined. I'm a bit thankful actually. Collecting is getting to be a pain. Might be time for me to call it a day.
I haven't, but of course my freakin' CC company declined the charge as fraud protection. I can only hope that tomorrow I can get someone at Waterstones to help fix the problem.
I'm beginning to wish everyone would take Paypal.
Yup

No doubt! The fraud protection is great and all but come on already! One thing that might work for you guys is to get a PayPal debt card and transfer money into your PayPal account. Not sure if the PayPal credit card will issue a fraud alert but I was able to order from Amazon UK using my PayPal debt. So far that's the only way I've found around the whole fraud protection deal. My bank refuses to lift the international ban on my debt card even when I asked to sign a wavier to approve charges before they are outright denied. However, I still haven't gotten an email about the S/L nor a phone call stating one way or the other. Ordered it with my PayPal debt card as well.
You don't know my kind.....You don't my mind.....Dark necessities are part of my design.....
I received the fraud alert when I initially made the purchase - but it came right up on my phone and I was able to say it was okay - then called CC company just to double check it was good - and they said everything looked fine. Got shipping notice this morning around 0945. Will see how this one is packed - hopefully everyone else's cc issues will be resolved.
Since it is still listed as sold out on site - and so many issues with fraud alert occurred - I would hope they will wait to hear from those buyers

I got my copy this morning #153
It's in mint condition, which is lucky as it came in a cardboard mailer, like the ones Amazon use. No padding, bubble wrap etc at all :/
Mine is for sale too!
I'll try and upload photos if i can remember how!
I just spoke with the folks at Waterstones and was able to get them to resubmit the charge, and it appears to have gone through.
Now, back to bed as it's 1:36 in the morning.
They are numbered, signed by Stephen and Owen King. Slipcase is same cloth as the older UK Gift editions, but nicely printed.
I just received an email to say that my copy is in store and ready for collection....
Shame I'm stuck at work and finish late all week....
Just spoke with waterstones. For all those affected by fraud CC nonsense, they said that they will attempt payment 3 times before they cancel the order. So, if you are able to get your CC company in line, you should be fine We shall see

Thanks for that! I opened a ticket with them yesterday to ask how many times they would resubmit before cancelling. I haven't received any kind of notice... no attempt from Waterstones and no fraud alert from my bank. I even went into my bank and said I am "travelling" in the UK right now through tomorrow so that it would go through. Given when I purchased it made me sign into my account and verify that I own the card before submitting.
Are they shrink-wrapped? I hope so, because that may help protect them in shipping, but at the same time that's bad because I am not strong enough to tear the shrink-wrap off my books.
I'm sure if there is intelligent life somewhere out there in the universe, they are wise enough to stay away from us.
