    I always pack books assuming that they'll be left in the rain, or carried around in the rain before final delivery. I've lost count of how many times we've gotten waterlogged mail and packages at our front door.

    I wrap larger books in saran wrap before wrapping them in bubble wrap. Smaller books go in ziplock bags that are then taped to ensure a waterproof seal.
    I also try to make sure when I send books in the mail, that if their left in the rain they won't be damaged.
    Don't trust whoever is delivering the package to put it where it won't get wet.
