Yeah, that's me. I was surprised to see this thread, because I didn't recognize the essay title! When I wrote that essay almost exactly four years ago, I called it Stephen King's Monsters. For various reasons, the issue of Inhuman has been delayed all this time, and I'd pretty much forgotten about it. Glad to hear that it's finally coming to light. I'm looking forward to reading it, since I forget most of what it's about!

I was paid four years ago, so that's never been an issue. The website should have my name spelled correctly now, too.

since we all know i'm totally stalking bev ( ) i got some information so that i could order this. allen koszowski was kind enough to give me permission to post this here so that you guys would know about alternate shipping methods as well.

    media mail indeed. *gasp*

Thanks for the interest in the issue. It will not be back from the printer until sometime next week, or at least that is what they have promised.

The issue is a little too big to go in a Priority Mail Small Flat Rate Box. This would have been the least expensive way to ship the issue to you by Priority Mail in something other than an envelope. The next size up - a medium flat rate box - would cost $10.35. I would place the issue between two pieces of rigid cardboard and put the magazine in a plastic cover. This I would put in the priority box and pad it well all around. The issue costs $6.95 and when you add the postage the total would be $17.30.

If you feel comfortable with me sending it first class - with rigid cardboard on both sides to protect it - in a manila envelope marked Do Not Bend I can cut the postage cost to $3.00 and it would arrive at your house within three days according to the USPS. So then the total would be $9.95. This is assuming that you live within the US.

You may also want to mention that if I ship it media mail the cost for an issue would be $8.95 including postage.

You can pay by sending the payment through Paypal to this E-mail address ( OUTREart@aol.com ), or you can send a check or money order here.

Interesting. "When the Monsters Get You" is, of course, a line that SK used in Danse Macabre for a way of seeing death. I would ask if your essay actually touches on that theme at all, but I guess this means that we'll all just have to wait and see.

It's a great line. SK originally used it in 'Salem's Lot during a scene when Mark Petrie was reflecting on Danny Glick's death..."Understand Death? Sure, that was when the monsters got you."

Would love to read the article, sounds interesting.

I'm still a bit confused on how to order though. How do we contact him to let him know what method of shipping we want and that we want it autographed? Also, where do we send the check to? Any help on this would be appreciated!

click the link to get to the web site for the mailing address. if you use paypal, use the address from my earlier post. paypal gives you the option to send a note with your payment/order. i would recommend you do that - say what you are ordering, how you want it shipped, whether or not you would like him to sign it, etc. you should also drop him an email letting him know that you are sending payment (with all the same details). just as a heads-up.

and here's a plug cause i'm evil that way: don't forget to check the info at bev's site. me, i'll be damned if i'm having some artist sign and not bev.

and yes, that "some artist" crack was sarcasm folks.

Are you saying that even authors are finding out here at TDT.com about their own work being published?!

You heard it here first, folks!
