The Bright Side of Death: Celebrity Death Pool

So after a week full of celebrity passings and some discussion with other members in the IMMRN thread, I determined there is significant interest to play this game. With that, here begins our first celebrity death pool.

The rules:

1. Each entrant will make a list of 19 celebrities they think will pass in the year from July 9, 2009 - July 9, 2010.

To be included, all lists should be pm'd to me by 9:00 PM EST Monday July 6, 2009 (ie. one week from tonight).

2. Points will be awarded on a pro-rated system based on the age of the deceased as follows:

80+ years old - 1 point
70-79 - 2 points
60-69 - 3 points
50-59 - 4 points
40-49 - 5 points
30-39 - 6 points
20-29 - 7 points
19 or below - 10 points

3. Highest point total at 9:00 pm July 9, 2010 is declared the winner.

That's it.

It's that simple.

After the deadline next Monday I will post everyone's lists in one post for our convenience to check back as need be as we progress.

I feel I must say to anyone who find this game offensive, it is not our intention to offend anyone or make light of tragedies. However, death is reality. Celebrities are going to die and we are going to wind up talking about it and quite likely even making light of some it, so we may as well make a game of it.

Sometimes dealing with it like this makes it easier. Or perhaps we are just terrible people. Regardless, this is all intended to be in good (albeit morbid) fun.

I am all over this. I worked on my list all afternoon, and I believe I have come up with the winning strategy. We shall see.

And yeah, it's morbid, but I think it's better to laugh in the face of death than curl up in the fetal position and quit living. So, let the games begin!

Oh, and if I ever become famous, I will write in my will that if anyone gets me in the TDT.com celebrity death pool they get a boatload of cash. Just sayin'.
