Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness
I do not intend this thread for anything other than informational purposes, it's just that you guys are family to me so I want to let you know what is going on.
Obviously nothing below this will change my relationship the the site at all. it'll probably mean I get more time here. This site is one of the things that really matters to me so it's a high priority, always will be.
I'll just put it out there and then explain after.
I'm going to give my two week notice at my job tomorrow morning. I've worked at the bank for 12 years and it's hard explain why I'm doing this but it has a lot to do with being 40 and having two of my kids grown and gone from the house.
The upside is that I'm going to take courses online to get my degree and become a teacher!! Which has always been a life long dream of mine. I figure I have 20 good years left, better get to it.
We're in a recession so this is really like jumping off a sound ship with the hope of a ship in the distance but Dora and I are going to take the financial hit as best we can. We are not buying a second car (for instance) and I am going to get work at night possibly.
I've also started a bookkeeping/website building business that has one client already...hopefully more. If you guys know anyone that needs this service, let me know! Technology means it can be done from anywhere.
Nothing ventured, nothing gained and all that.
Anyway, like I said at the top, nothing changes here. This site and especially the fund raiser have provided a source of pride in what I do that has actually opened my eyes in a lot of ways. I want to do something that matters and teaching kids would really fit that bill. Not to mention, I'm a REALLY good teacher.(if I do say so myself)
We can merge this later, just wanted my extended family to know.
I really need to call my parents and tell them!
