Sometimes I really hate the secondhand market. Last night I was buying a board game on Facebook Marketplace. I was the first one to inquire, and said I would pay for Simpsons Clue right away, as it was only $5. She wanted cash, so I agreed to pick it up on Wednesday. The listing was changed to Sold.

An hour later I get a text telling me someone offered her $8, so the sale was off. Really?!? For an additional $3?!? After asking her how she could renege on a sale over a measly $3, she said she didn’t care. Luckily since I was still considered the buyer, I could provide a nasty seller review.

The shipping on an empty box is $55.60. You can also buy 1 year protection plan for $54.99. I think the generic description of open box item is ironic:

"...The item may be missing the original packaging or protective wrapping...."

That should read:

"....The original packaging or protective wrapping may be missing the item...."

eBay needs to crack down on this. I mean it’s clear is just a box in the title but this is a shitty practice.

It's definitely a shitty practice but if people are willing to spend money on it, I don't really know what eBay can do about it. At best, the buyer can file a complaint and possibly get a refund.

Well since all he bought was the box, if there are any scratches or dents in the box, then the buyer could claim a defective product. Hope the seller put the box in another box and didn't put a shipping label on it. (well actually I hope he didn't 'cause hope the buyer can get out of the deal). Will be interesting to check the sellers feedback in a week or so.
