Hope everything is OK Kris. That seems like it was a monster of a storm. I don't think I have ever heard of a storm that big before. Super storm Sandy was engulfed 800 miles. I was in that one. Not
as bad as you but we had no power for about 5 days and the rain was insane. I hope everything worked out for you.

Ever prepare a gourmet meal for yourself and spouse, then your spouse drives 35 miles away to have what ends up being a late lunch with our newborn grandson and our daughter?
She hasn't even left to return here and it's 6PM. So I guess I have to wait at least 1+ hours before eating. I'm on a diet that only affords me one meal a day (dinner). I get 1 orange, 1/4 cup of pineapple and 8 ounces of orange juice for breakfast. For desset I have a banana or an apple.

    Dinner is my only "deal".

I've prepared sushi quality ahi steaks, that are marinating in a special sauce. They will be blackened in a red hot skillet for 2 minutes, then sliced into thin slices; rare in the middle, blackened on the edges, lightly sprinkled with sesame seeds, green onions, and a squirt of lime. A homemade wasabe drizzle will top the pieces, with one tiny dot of sriracha on the corner of each piece. Pickled ginger on the side as a palette cleanser.

The side salad is organic greens, sliced fresh kiwi fruit, fresh pineapple "poke", pine nuts, and cranberry.

Steamed broccoli topped with a minute drizzle of Persian lime olive oil, and a hint of balsamic vinegar.

Anyone want to join me for dinner?

Kris, glad you and yours came through the storm safely.

Jerome, I wish I’d seen your dinner invitation sooner! Hope it was as delicious as it sounds.

I was looking at this book today, and there are lots of great stories in here, but also great artists. I had mine remarqued, and already posted that, but I also think it was inscribed too, which I had not seen until today.

So the wife and I decided to get away to Calistoga (northern Napa county.) Took the convertible up. Air quality is pristine, and weather is great. 85 degree high, no fog no clouds.

Had a snack at Napa Valley Brewing. Located right on the river with beautiful grounds. Food was good, and beer was very good.

That's cool. The missus and I stayed a night in Calistoga a few years ago, and ate in that exact place. Agreed - good food, good beer, very nice place.

Ok, the Matrix is broken. Colin mailed a book to me media mail from CA on the 23rd, it arrived to me on the 25th. That never happens that fast with media mail. There was a note inside of the box stating it had been inspected. It was repackaged well and the book arrived safely.

While I don’t dispute this entirely, the fact that it’s coming from the New York Times makes me seriously question the credibility of this story

That is the company line most Republicans are toeing right now. If Trump released his "real" taxes, if indeed this story is fake, all would be cleared up.

Not these days. Years ago they presented detailed articles based on facts. Nowadays there is far too much opinion strewn in.

Like I said earlier, just release his supposed real taxes and problem solved. A great way to really stick it to NYT.
