Pool smell is not actually chlorine but chloramines which are compounds that happen when chlorine combines with oil, sweat and urine in the pool. Chlorine is added to destroy bacteria that can cause diarrhea, ear infections and other bad stuff but the side effect is that awful smell which is why I haven't been in a pool for decades now. It's a good idea to shower before getting in the pool to get some of the oil and sweat off your body to reduce the chloramine smell.
After two semesters of Organic chemistry lab, I hate the smell of anything with those chemicals. I have to wear a mask when using bleach.
Is there a reason the intriguing Stephen King/dark tower auction thread is closed?
At any rate here is one:

Looks like a nice lot.

Kills it!
You don't know my kind.....You don't my mind.....Dark necessities are part of my design.....
My day today included having a colonoscopy followed by watching It Part 2. Given how absolutely painful it was, I’ll take being knocked out and having a camera stuck up me any day instead of having to watch that movie again!
That's saying something. I had a debridement yesterday.
They flayed open (FILLETED) two tracks that have been problematic of late. Huge open wound with instructions to clean and pack twice daily.
I'll post a pic with spoiler tags.
And located on the former crack of my ass. Sitting is such joy.
C’mon RF, pictures??? I have pictures of my inner ass, and I find them disgusting. No way I’d be sharing those!
It's just a wound.
I'll spare everyone the visual trauma.
Suffice it to say, it is fairly painful.
Random comment :
Is this a cultural thing to add a capital letter to each word of a sentence?
It's sort of bothers me when I read and share articles from american websites, but I just would like to know whether it's a cultural thing. Which would make sense.
An article from BD : https://bloody-disgusting.com/books/...dqivsts-novel/
Titled : "‘Let the Right One In’: Suntup Details Upcoming Deluxe Edition Release of John Ajvide Lindqivst’s Novel"
NYT (taken from absolutely random) : https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/...-mask-map.html
Titled : A Detailed Map of Who Is Wearing Masks in the U.S.
From France, "le monde", let's say that it's the french NYT : https://www.lemonde.fr/education/art...9_1473685.html
Titled : L’éducation nationale détaille le fonctionnement des écoles en cas de reprise de l’épidémie de Covid-19
So... is it an english-spoken thing?

Since they're article titles, they should follow capitalization rules for titles, where most words are indeed capitalized: https://grammar.yourdictionary.com/c...in-titles.html
I've never read or actually browsed any, but do UK versions of US books account for the "r" at the end of words they tend to accentuate?
No. I may be an asshole, but I no longer have a colon, or a rectum. The Doctor did a debridement to a problematic area where they had previously sewed me up so my rear (not front) resembles a Ken Doll.
It sure hurts like hell today as I've been sitting up. A doughnut to sit on helps, or a waffle cushion, but I had been pain free for months, and now I am reminded of what a pain in the ass feels like.

It's an electric bike. No need for a transmission. It has a direct rear wheel drive. Turn the throttle to accelerate/decelerate.

"One day you're going to figure out that everything they taught you was a lie."
Ran across this while reading Neil Gaiman's American Gods and thought it was brilliant. Sam trying to comfort Shadow that his wild story was safe with her.
Reminded me of the great quote from Ron Shelton's Bull Durham.
