I read an article about Chelsea in the Washington Post recently and was highly dismayed to hear just how much money she is paid for "speaking engagements" not because she knows what she is actually talking about but because of who she is! Directly quoted from the July 10th Washington Post:

WASHINGTON (AP) — Like her high-profile parents, Chelsea Clinton is becoming a draw on the speaking circuit, with some organizations shelling out as much as $75,000 per speech.

and

Her own compensation drew scrutiny when Politico reported that she earned $600,000 a year at NBC News, where she has infrequently appeared on camera as a special correspondent.

Wow an infrequent special correspondent and she receives more than a half mil per year!!!! And people wonder what the fuck is wrong with America! Well the rich keep getting richer, the poor poorer and most of it paid on the backs of the Middle Class!

This shouldn’t really be a surprise. Paris Hilton, Lindsey Lohan and Kim Kardashian all have outrageous prices just to show up at parties because of who they are and there are plenty of people out there willing to pay them.

The plane left from Amsterdam - 192 of my fellow countrymen were killed. Approximately 100 passengers were on their way to a major HIV/AIDS research conference, many top scientists in this field among them. Truly a tragic day for the Netherlands and for the world.

Considering the very volatile Ukraine vs. Russia vs. the rest of the world situation this could very well lead to a new chapter in the Cold War.

There is a terribly long list of civilian airliners shot down by military/rebels. This includes the USSR, the USA, Israel, The Ukraine (yes The Ukraine), Russia (possibly) and others.

For over a year, I have been cycling 15-30 KMs a day (doing over 5000 kms), and spending an extra 40mins at the gym for 3-5 days a week.
And yesterday, by simply walking in a park, I fell.... and hurt my foot.

I had an xray, nothing is broken, but I couldnt really walk. And today I can hardly walk (better, but still).
Two days before my holidays.

How bloody daft is that?

This is so terrible, it's just the senselessness of it. A friend of mine in Amsterdam lost a friend on the plane. And a co-worker of my wife lost her Aunt and Uncle. Never mind that there has been large sums of money stolen from their accounts, there 15 and 16 year old children are left without parents.

I read a LOT of his goosebumps books when being in primary school, and now i decided that i will try to get a book signed!

After all, i dont know if i would have discovered / read Stephen King if I didnt read his books !

Missed celebrating my 2000th post, I think it was yesterday. Yay me.

Our son Julian just returned from spending the 15th week of his young life in the hospital. It was becoming increasingly difficult to get him to fall asleep and it really spiralled out of control, which was extremely stressful for all of us. According to our pediatrician he's way ahead of other kids his age, both mentally and physically, and he tries to absorb everything that goes on around him.

Even though we were aware of this and tried to limit external input he ended up being chronically fatigued and overstimulated, which caused lots of physical tension and hyperactivity and made it almost impossible for him to fall and stay asleep. We were told this is quite common with kids like him and luckily our hospital has a protocol in place to basically reset their sleeping patterns. We were involved in every step along the way and as I write this my baby boy is sleeping quietly in his own little bed again! Only now do we truly realize the amount of stress we were dealing with and MAN am I glad we decided to seek professional help...

(knock on wood - we still have to see if he's able to keep it up but we're very grateful for every bit of rest he's getting now)

Am currently at The Stanley in Estes Park, made the 2.5 hour drive in only four hurs ... nothing but traffic, construction and frickin tourists. Place is packed, hate it .. doesn't even compare to when we came up for the reading last year. Anyway, if anybody wants anything from The Stanley drop me a PM asap and I'll pick it up for you. Won't be here too long, want to hit some trails in RMNP before dark.
