I have a good news to share and it's that I've been promoted in my soccer job to manager for Argentina and Uruguay. This was a big surprise, since I'm one of the "new ones" and haven't been working for RunningBall for a year yet. So when the manager for Latam contacted me and offered the position, I said "YES" immediately. I had some interviews and was finally chosen.
For training purposes, I'll be traveling to Austria next May.
Now it might be a good moment to check my incomes and leave the videogame designer job, something I might end up doing by June/July. Even when this last year has been really positive and I was able to save a lot, change the car (and I'm currently seeking for a house) and improve my life quality, this new position might be the jump I needed to leave at least one job (I still ran a webstore and cover soccer matches on weekends).

Sounds like a great career progression, Ari. Congrats!!
The answer is no. As sound waves are produced when air pressure experiences a variation or vibration. Molecules will move when something pushes them, causing them to bump into each other. This causes compression and rarefaction. These waves can move through various liquids and solids. However sound waves cannot move through a vacuum, which would have been present at the point of the Big Bang. So regardless of there being anyone to hear it, no sound was produced. It should have been called 'The Big Flash'
"A real limited edition, far from being an expensive autograph stapled to a novel, is a treasure. And like all treasures do, it transforms the responsible owner into a caretaker, and being a caretaker of something as fragile and easily destroyed as ideas and images is not a bad thing but a good one...and so is the re-evaluation of what books are and what they do that necessarily follows." - Stephen King
My deepest sympathies to Glenn and his family.

Anybody collect Transformers?
I returned a book purchased on eBay back to the seller because it didn't match the description. I know the seller received the book on Friday. What would be considered an acceptable period to wait before getting refunded? I can sometimes be impatient (especially about money), so I don't want to come across as too pushy.
Hearts are tough, she said, most times hearts don't break, and I'm sure that's right . . . but what about then? What about who we were then? What about hearts in Atlantis?

I know many of my friends here don't care too much about the POTUS but I wanted to share this pic with you. As we speak the Nuclear Security Summit is taking place in The Hague (about 10 km from my place) and before the kick-off there was a press conference by Obama and our prime Minister in the Rijksmuseum. Here they are in front of the famous 'Nachtwacht' (Night Watch) painting by Dutch painter Rembrandt (you may have heard of him ):
Rembrandt's work never ceases to amaze.
I've found that the amount of money in my checking account is inversely proportional to the amount of time I spend on TDT.org. You people were killing me!

okay so there is a crispy kreme's donuts opening right around the corner from me (literally 5 minutes away) - and the grand opening is 15 April (tax day). part of their grand opening extravaganza is the first 100 people in line get a free donut (or possibly donuts?) every day for the next year. So who would get up early for that - and if so what time do you think i would need to be in line….fortunately it is northern cali and it would not be that cold at all in the middle of the night. I was thinking i might meed to be there around 0300 - they open at 0600. I rarely eat donuts - but how can you pass this one up????

it helps to read the rules:
PRIZES: The first 100 registered Participants through the door (including those Alternates who have moved up the line to be one of the first 100) who comply with these Rules will win one of the following prizes:
The FIRST in line (i.e., “Number 1”) will receive one free dozen “Original Glazed” doughnuts every week for a year, a commemorative Grand Opening t-shirt and the honor of turning on the “Hot Doughnuts NOW” sign when the Store opens.
Numbers 2 through 100 will receive one free dozen “Original Glazed” doughnuts every month for a year and a commemorative Grand Opening t-shirt.
oh yeah and you line up at 3pm the day before it opens to be counted in the top 100 - and they have line check randomly - and you gotta stay in line until they open the store…i might have to rethink this and just buy any donuts i want like the rest of the world…doh!!
