LOL I think I loved it just as much as the kids.
The ones around here are all gone - havent seen one in years but I hope they're still around somewhere. Fantastic place to mix it up with your little ones

The Houston Astros cheated Major League Baseball from 2017-18!!!! Is that how we teach our kids to play the game now?????
Sadly, with the Chuck E Cheese's around Milwaukee, the adults tend to mix it up with other adults. We have two in the area, and one of them seems to have at least two fights a year.

We have one about 15 minutes down the road - although the last time I was in one was back in philly as a kid growing up. All of the birthday parties were there. I remember sinking quarters into one of the worst video games ever - Dragon's Lair - this was the only place that had this game. All it was was a pretty picture with video quality graphics at the time - otherwise a pretty crappy game. I might have to bring Caleb to the local one and see how scary it is inside.
OK... got a really important question for everyone/anyone....
I have sevral thousand photos saved in a photobucket account.
Photobucket has put on notice that they are having a mandatory switch over to the "NEW photobucket" format. in just a few days.
I have avoided the voluntary switch like a plague since I tried it a couple of months ago... lost almost all my photos, all my albums were hosed or missing, the format sucked, so I switch back to the original format.
now... the bucket heads are forcing people into this new format in a few days... so I tried to switch over tonight... and same nasty ass results.
anybody had success with this... I'm really going to hate to lose all those uploads and that hard work I did organizing into albums.
edit: ok... I logged out and found my way back to the new bucket via a search engine... somehow managed to get to my page and log in...
looks like everthing is there... not sure I care much about the new bland format that is there... but at least I'm not going to have to re-upload everything - at this point. and that's a good thing.
I agree, Terry. The "new" Photobucket sucks big-time! I'm considering switching to another photo-sharing site, but, as you said, the effort required is immense.

While digging through the files for the info on the proof copies of THE SHINING I stopped to read some early correspondence between King and his editor at Doubleday, Bill Thompson. I found this fragile carbon copy of an early letter from Thompson to King. I wonder if King still has the original? Anyway I thought most everyone would enjoy reading this. Sad yet optimistic. You can tell that Thompson really had feelings for this young writer.
Interesting! That's the first I heard that "Getting It On" was similar to another, failed, book, Chrisie. I think I'm going to start searching for that one.
John
Great letter. Thank you very much for posting this.
I think you are still misspelling it. It is CRISIS.
I was talking about the spelling in the original note.
John
Looks like CRISIS to me. Not sure if you are pulling my leg or not.
I read it as "Crisis". The last "S" appears fainter. Could be a bad copy, a bad flash bounce on the photo, or a light keystroke on the typewriter.
I guess you all are right. Crisis.
John
I can't wait till I pass up my old handle in posts...then I'll really be Stebbins. Pretty long way to go though
Fantastic letter! Thanks Bob

Well - had a nice night at a big charity event for the local hospice and bereavement foundation. Saw the premier of the new papa roach video (jacoby is local so he always shows up to these events and is involved in the community - he had some local kids in the video) - the new song was really good as well. Our big purchase was a private tour of Pixar studios - so look forward to taking the family on that one - since it looks like tours are hard to come by (unless you know someone that works there or get one via charity event). The big spender of the night was 10K for a half barrel of wine (that comes to 150 bottles of your own private label) - our table agreed to try and bid on it and split it 4 ways (our max was 2K - needless to say we were out early). A nice evening and a great local event.
Neat letter!! Thanks for posting it Bob.
