I stroll casually through the "bad" neighborhoods safe in the knowledge that everywhere is about as bad these days. Might as well not worry.

I'm the baddest thing in my neighborhood!
Usually we say "There goes the neighborhood"...
I've lived in my house for five years and still have not met my neighbors. Perhaps that's a good thing
Our new neighbor's kids (8,6 & 4) came over and introduced themselves while we were still looking at the house, hadn't even bought it yet! Then on the day we moved in they and their mom came over and she took tgem to the park while we unpacked. Yesterday anotherer neighbor introduced himself, 30 year Army vet who did time in Vietnam. Folks have their cars parked outside, xmas lights evertwhere, and nobody has an ADT sign on their front lawn. I think I picked a good neighborhood!

I have an ADT sign outside my house to discourage visitors but no actual alarm system.
My book is available for free this weekend on Kindle, and it is currently in the top 50 (free) Sci-Fi e-books on amazon.com, and in the top 10 on amazon.co.uk.
Will anyone actually read it? I don't know, but it still feels nice to be popular.
Congrats Jeremy and Robert!
American District Telegraph
I loved the book Horns. I'm not sure about a movie though.
Quick question.
Does anyone know how much could it cost S&H to Argentina of an item of 10 pounds?
Thanks!

Other neighbors came by today to introduce themselves and their kids, they even brought a plate of Christmas cookies. I think I moved to Mayberry!
Thanks for the assist on "American District Telegraph", I had no idea ... and that makes absolutely no sense for a security company. Must be an old name that's carried forward, like Wells Fargo or something.

I also enjoyed the Haven Christmas Special, even if it was reminiscent of the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode "Remember Me" :nerd:
My favorite part of Haven is the constant barrage of Stephen King references (which is ironic, because the show itself contains almost no references or similarities to "The Colorado Kid" on which it is "based"). Ones I caught last night:
- The movie playing at the theater was "The Bark Tower"
- The "Mohaine" bridge was out
- One pivotal character's name was "Chambers" (first name wasn't Jake or Elmer, though)
