Merry Christmas to all of you! I'm hoping for a nice day of rest tomorrow. Both my wife and the kids have had the flu the last few days (I had a mild case last week), so I've been dealing with a tired, sick, and cranky house. Luckily everyone is on the mend, so tomorrow should be a great day.

We've been watching a binge marathon of Black Mirror. Really LOVING this show! It's a Tales From The Darkside/Twilight Zone type of anthology series based around technology, usually with a plot twist at the end of each episode. We started with Season 3's opener starring Bryce Dallas Howard. It's a darkly comic episode surrounding social media that isn't too far from the truth..... Please don't "down vote" me! If you haven't seen this series, I'd definitely recommend it!

A bit late, but I hope everyone had a great Christmas/holidays!

I've enjoyed what I've seen of Black Mirror so far, maybe half of what is on Netflix.

Ok I have a question!!! Not sure if this is the best thread but here goes. My eldest daughter is 13, and scares easily, but I'd like to get her "involved" or acquainted with SK. Is 13 a bit young for a girl who scares easily or will it help to help to desensitize her??? All comments and thoughts/ideas more than welcome.....

Some of Stephen King's finest work is actually non-horror. Get her to watch something like Stand By Me (she will relate to the kids in the movie as they are practically the same age), and The Shawshank Redemption. If she likes those two movies, you can then get to start reading Different Seasons and move gradually from there to the more horrific stuff as she gets older....

Great choices. Carrie a few years down the road as she'll probably be able to relate. Definitely stay away from IT and 'Salem's Lot. Two of the more scarier books IMO. TDZ but Frank Dodd would probably scare the crap out of her. Firestater isn't too bad either I don't think.

Never thought about eyes of the dragon or the girl who loved Tom Gordon!! Great ideas thanks guys! Think I'll hold Carrie back for three years or so! Loved eyes of the dragon and it's role in TDT... mayhap I'll start there... once again thanks guys! Any more ideas wouldn't go a miss!
