My kids’ three schools are closed and they’ve moved to online classes. So far the 5th grader likes it. Also, my company has moved to working from home. I’m not in the Bay Area, but we’re one of the counties on the ever expanding list that has the “shelter in place” order. Pretty much the same as Jerome described above. We’ll see how things go.

I must admit that I am not actually very smart. A smart person never would have defended Bill's posting stupid shit as I did. I saw him as a decent person who was not intentionally causing all of the myriad problems he causes. I should have applied Occam's Razor to the situation and realized the simplest reason is likely the correct one. Bill posts stupid shit because he is incapable of acting against his nature.

A friend of mine in Maine turned me on to this Aberlour A'Bunadh last year, I'd never heard of it before. Rather than bottled by year like many whiskies, this particular one is done in batches. The batch numbers are handwritten on them, which is a nice touch. Not limited edition though, this is business as usual. I picked up this one on sale for $75, usually runs a bit higher around here. It's quite good, but if course that depends on what you like; no smoky/peat (I hate that), this one I actually get an orange/fruity taste that is really different. Worth a try if you like scotch whisky.

I have finally finished watching GAME OF THRONES.
Loved it from start to finish.
I only have two criticisms:

Spoiler:

1. The phony baloney scraping sound every time a sword or knife is drawn and 2. When Arya Stark uses Lord Walder's face to impersonate him and poison all the men who killed her brother, mother, etc. I could never buy this on MISSION IMPOSSIBLE, and I didn't buy it here. Not only her face, but her hair, body, mannerisms and voice all change? Doesn't work for me, sorry.

2. The books haven't caught up to that part yet, but I always thought the intent was that there was some magic involved. So it's not just a person in a mask acting like someone else.

I do realize all that, and MI says they have voice filters, etc. But it's always irked me you can put a mask over your face and suddenly you're completely disguised as that person and can even fool his/her mother. I can never suspend my disbelief enough for that. It seems like a cheap-shot way of resolving a plot issue. I still absolutely loved GOT though, and some of the MI movies.

I work on Fremont, and it's super surreal to see the casinos being boarded up, and guests told to check out. My office has a "we'll work until they force us to stop" mentality, but who knows how long we got. I know it's all for the best, but you can tell the city is worried

Haven't noticed any difference here besides no one has TP. Since school is out, kids are running around everywhere. Probably didn't solve much. And we all know what germ riddled things those suckers are.

So, my two workplaces are officially closed and I’m working remotely. It’s ok with the University I’m at, teaching / supervising students, but not so conducive at the clinic I’m in. Schools are still open - government figures there’s not much point as closures will send front line workers home to look after them, and they’ll just run around anyway, spending time in parks and shopping centres etc.

What a time to be alive!! Sincerely wishing the international Dark Tower tribe the best of health and safety - both to you and your families x

I understand panic buying. It happens each and every time a named storm is on its way to our area. Bread, milk, bottled water, batteries. Gas up the vehicles, stuff like that.

But, toilet paper?

Never have I seen so many people lose their minds over effing toilet paper.
