Cheers Jon!!!
Hey all,
My name is Andrew and I'm a collector. Not much of a King fan these days but I'm here to discuss other peoples' collections and do some trades. Y'all seem like a tight knit bunch.
Welcome aboard the good ship lollypop!
Thanks for the warm welcome, guys. My submarine is no longer yellow. Gotta love the darker board theme option! Is this blasphemy? Are you guys rolling the yellow?
I like army green myself!!!
Welcome, Andrew. We'd all love to see pics of your collection!
John
John,
Waiting on a couple things. First, the 5 post threshold so I can put pictures in the proper board (for some reason I haven't been able to get my replies through the filters in Dutch Hill..). Second, I have some big pieces coming in the next couple weeks or so that I'd like to have in place before I go and show off.
I'd say my collection is really small-time, but I love it nonetheless.

Andrew, you have to remember that we ALL started small. That you love your collection is what counts!
John
Completely agree with, John. I consider myself a low end collector (not going after the really big value items) and I marvel at a lot of the great collections here. Stuff I know I'll never own but still happy for the folks that do and it's awesome to see personal photos of their loot rather than some stock photo or publishers description. Looking through the collection threads here is liking walking through a museum. And most of our fellow forum members have built these wonderful collections over a lifetime.
You'll develop your own thread for your collection as you go along. Be it Remarques, sigs, proofs/arc, promotion stuff, etc. Or you might just want it all! .

I suppose that's one thing I'm really happy about; the fact that my collection is homogeneous and concise. I started out intending to keep it that way and it's funny because I think I'm far from alone. The collection takes on a mind of its own and you start to outdo yourself, consistently upping the ante. Used to be I only had a couple signed books here and there, nowadays I'm putting together matching numbered sets and the like. Has a way of creeping up on you.
Piece 1 of 2 arrived today. I'm so excited to show off soon.
It becomes a living, breathing thing no doubt!

I really think it is more an addiction. And the people on this site are the enablers!
John
It is an addiction, not doubt about it. But there is value in said collecting as well.
