Hey people. I have a quick question I hope can be answered before I venture through the rest of the forum. I am about the start to read the waste lands...Does this forum have spoilers for the books? As I dont want to find out what happens by any other means than reading the books!! Thanks. Anyway, heres my answers:
How did you discover the Dark Tower?
I watched a program on TV about fantasy novels which sparked my interest in Joe Abercrombies books, so I went to the library the next day but I couldn't find any of his books so picked up the gunslinger instead. Thanks Joe!
Who is your favorite character?
So far, Eddie Dean. He seems the most normal person so far so I can identify with him more
What is your favorite book?
Erm, of this series? probably the gunslinger so far... Its the one that popped my Dark Tower cherry
How old are you?
20
Where are you from?
London
do you have a nickname?
No
Welcome SpekeR! All the forums with spoilers will either have the word spoilers in the topic header, or a radioactive symbol next to the thread title.
The Baronies is full of spoilers, so you may want to only read the threads for the books you've completed.
Also, in a particular post, if there is a spoiler, there should be a tag, like this:
Spoiler:
We try to be very careful to mark all spoilers here. Look around and have fun!

OK thanks!
You're so lucky SpectR... wish I was reading The Dark Tower for the first time (again).
Welcome
Hi everyone... New here. You have a beautiful site and with such lovely graphics.
Okay, in answer to the questions; I'm a forty mumble, mumble year old woman from the Northeast who discovered Stephen's work back in the late seventies. I'm one of those people who read The Gunslinger when it first came out. I thought it was fine. The opening line was great - compelling - but I couldn't like Roland. After all,Spoiler:. So, yeah, t was good.... But there were other literary worlds than that for me. Read the second and third books in the Dark Tower Cycle, but they were library reads, not Barnes and Noble purchases. Wizards and Glass seemed to stand alone, but it grabbed me again. Then I waited, oh so impatiently I waited, for Sai King to complete his tale. I thought he did so brilliantly. Favorite character? hmmm...Spoiler:
I'm afraid that I've forgotten the rest of the questions. The product of a misspent youth, probably. I think I'll wander off and browse, but wanted to say hello. I'll try really hard to be a good guest.
Welcome Disturbed Angel, SpectR, andMrsSmeej, I know you will enjoy the site and the people here are great and will help any way possible.

Hey Greasemark, great to have you!
The kindness of close friends is like a warm blanket
Thank you Mia/Susannah, Unfound One and Jean. I'm having a wonderful time, but I feel like a bit like one of those drawn three must have felt when they stepped out of their doorways and into a whole new world.
of course. That's exactly what you did.

Hey,
I'm a Tower junkie who somehow never ended up here (until now). Looks like a great place to hang and talk!

Ha! Wow, but with a post count like All Hail The Crimson King's, our usernames should probably be in reverse - I think I should be the one hailing at this point...
Thanks for the welcome!
Long days and pleasant nights, Crimson King! Awesome to see you posting. Don't dare to stop.
Roland would have understood.
