Welcome new friends
Welcome new friends
I've been a lurker for a spell, reading here and there. I'm coming to the series a little late in the game, and haven't finished the last book as of yet. I am about 1/4 the way through, and am trying to steal time when I can to finish it without hurrying.
How did you discover the Dark Tower?
Been a fan of Stephen King for a long long while, now. I spent some time on other books, until I picked up The Gunslinger. I actually didn't like it as much until I re-read it...or rather listened to it in book on tape format. I was hooked from then on and haven't read anything else for the last year, savoring the books.
Who is your favorite charcter?
I don't really have a single favorite. Every main character has good and bad traits.
What is your favorite book?
Wolves of Calla. It's very cinematic in it's presentation. More so than the others I think.
How old are you?
34
Where are you from?
Winter Park, Florida
Do you have a nickname?
Does "the defendant" count?
"...quiet as despair, I turn’d from him..."

Hello folks.
I go by ATG.
Been a huge fan of Kings most of my life.
The DT is the most profound literature in modern history, but I 'spect I'm preaching to the choir.
It's nice to have a place to rant and rave about the series, and King.
welcome ATG!

All that's left of what we were is what we have become.
I discovered the Dark Tower when I was about thirteen. My dad left it lying around and I couldn't figure out if it was a western or what. I read it in one sitting after skimming the back flap.
My favorite character is Roland. (I also love Jack Sawyer and was hoping like mad he would show up in the series, but...) I empathize with a character that embodies one who has learned to accept their brutal destiny as a matter of course. Roland's redeeming factors have become some of my own (at least I would like to think so).
My favorite book fluctuates. The pendulum swings most frequently over the Gunslinger. I have revisited certain scenes and passages quite frequently over the years from all of the books..."The girl at the window" comes immediately to mind.
I am almost 26 years old.
I am from various towns in North Carolina.
My nickname in college was "Socrates"
Hey Jude!
Welcome!!

Thanks. I'm a fan of Kant's categorical imperative #2 as well. Good to be here.
oh i love people from north carolina!!! good to have you here
Friend of mine from another site suggested that I visit here. Haven't done any exploring yet. I have read the series twice. I am sure once my maternity leave begins I will pick it up once again. I really enjoy being able to meet people with similar interests. I don't meet too many people from this area who love to read Stephen King like I do. Yes, a few, but not many. The Dark Tower is just so good. You can't stop once you start, even if you have read it before.
I am a full time working mother, fixing to be mom again. I have been married for 8 1/2 yrs and have a six yr old son. I grew up in a small town in Southwest Louisiana, and live about 20 minutes away from there. Don't have time for much other than work and family. Nice to meet you.
