How did you discover the Dark Tower?

I've been reading SK since I was but a wee child (probably why I still won't sleep with the closet door open ), and The Gunslinger happened to be next on the library shelf one day. Little did I know...

Who is your favorite character?

Well, Roland of course!

What is your favorite book?

Hard to say...probably The Drawing of the Three, although I'm gonna go ahead and admit that I loved Wolves of the Calla too.

How old are you?

29

Where are you from?

The midwestern US.

I actually once lived about half an hour from Gage Park, which was weird when I read Wizard and Glass and there they were.

Hmmm...side note, how picky are we about spoilers here? I don't want to go overboard, but I don't want to spoil anyone even more!

How I discovered the dark Tower:
The woman who would later become my wife handed me the "gunslinger" one day right before I left for work with the sheriffs office. From that point I was hooked, read them all strait through, say true!

Favorite charicter:
Being the closest thing to this worlds gunslinger, I can sympathize and relate to Roland.

Favorate book:
The wolves of Calla

A premature greying, 29

Oh, and gun lover here as well. Used to hate the things, but my husband's family is into target shooting and they got me into it. I never plan to shoot anything more animate than a skeet, but it is fun.

Can anyone tell me which order shall i read the books to get full benefit? thanks

i would say read all the dark tower books in order, then read the connector books. i would start with insomnia, then the talisman, then black house. then the stand. then bag of bones. then move on from there. but others might have differing views.

Hi fellow junkies. My name's Nate. I'm an aspiring scribbler from Omaha NE. I've been enjoying the series for the last 15 years and even have a half sleeve of DT related tattoos.


How did you discover the Dark Tower? My family is full of voracious readers and throughout childhood I borrowed and read loads of books from my aunts. When I was about 9 I read my first Stephen King book, (Eyes of the Dragon) and became immediately enamored. I then moved on to the DT and things were never quite the same after that......

Who is your favorite character? Cort. He may be the only guy in the world that could take Roland in a fair go.

1) Curiousity killed the cat. I wanted to *feel* while reading books. Guess Mr. King did just that.

2)Eddie. I can relate to him on the junkie level. Thats what made it so attractive (" Join me on a quest that you will never have" kinda vibe)

3The Gunslinger. haha even the title makes you look twice.
