Even if H&S didn't plan to do a limited edition, Scribner only has publishing rights in certain territories.
APPARENTLY, Under the dome will ACTUALLY be published from the 21st of september... in italia
One of the webmasters of the italian website :
So, the book will be really avaible in italian lenguage from 21th september. We've understood it from online-book-selling sites. We've phoned to italian editor, them confirmed that.
We don't know why the book will be avaible in italy before some other important counrties. It's been the same for other book, as "Just After Sunset".

How'd they get it translated so fast?
Actually publishers receive the proofs and arcs long before they start to show up. I know the spanish publisher got theirs several months ago and it's being translated yet. It'll be published in March.
Wanted list:
Ubris
But the french translator only start with the book being actually published, to be sure it's the final text.

Those hardcover advance copies of Under the Dome seem pretty common. I count five in active bids on eBay and two as completed (one of which I got.) I know of only three of the blue proofs that have been offered. One yesterday went for a best offer of $150! I hope someone here got it!

Congratulations, Nate. I think that is a great price. I know the seller "pulpster." He is Nick Certo and I have been buying books from him since the early 1980's. I used to get a snail mail catalog monthly from him. I still treasure some of the books I bought from him a long time ago (a signed CARRIE for $125 and a signed THE SHINING for $75).
Nick is usually pretty shrewd about pricing but I think you definitely got the better of him this time. You will get the book. He is a very reliable seller.
How long did that listing last before you bought the book? I can't seem to find when the listing went live.
That is the guy. Having him be a known seller makes me feel a lot more comfortable.
The listing only lasted 10 minutes. I was talking with my wife and glancing through the eBay listings when it scrolled past. I cut my wife off in mid-sentence saying I had to check it out. I bought it as soon as I confirmed it listed what I thought it did. I apologized to my wife for cutting her off but she had no problem with it. She knows I had been looking and it was something I really wanted.
Nate
Got love her understanding the urgency of the situation.
Congrats on your fabulous low price, Nate.
Excellent nab, Nate - congrats!
This collecting stuff is a sickness! ~Patrick
Thanks y'all.
Nate
That's probably true. It makes me wonder, though, about how many actual blue proofs were produced. It sounds like the demand for review copies far exceeded that run, so they issued these hardcover review copies. Just a guess, though, as to their reasoning.

... and as of this moment, there's seven of these HC ARCs on eBay. They're becoming a plague!
