And I'm quite happy with this setup. The Comixtreme forum where I've worked for years uses vbulletin, so I'm very familiar with it. I love the skin, too.
The old forum may be refitted a bit and have its name changed, you never know what we could figure out to do with it.

where the "no avatar" bubble is selected
but i can't change it for some reason...

I have one that says you can upload from the computer or put in a link.
