Glitter In The Air / Pink

Have you ever fed a lover with just your hands?
Close your eyes and trust it, just trust it
Have you ever thrown a fist full of glitter in the air?
Have you ever looked fear in the face
And said I just don't care?

It's only half past the point of no return
The tip of the iceberg, the sun before the burn
The thunder before lightning, the breath before the phrase
Have you ever felt this way?

Have you ever hated yourself for staring at the phone?
Your whole life waiting on the ring to prove you're not alone
Have you ever been touched so gently you had to cry?
Have you ever invited a stranger to come inside?

It's only half past the point of oblivion
The hourglass on the table, the walk before the run
The breath before the kiss and the fear before the flames
Have you ever felt this way?

La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la

There you are, sitting in the garden
Clutching my coffee, calling me sugar
You called me sugar

Have you ever wished for an endless night?
Lassoed the moon and the stars and pulled that rope tight
Have you ever held your breath and asked yourself
Will it ever get better than tonight? Tonight

( some new television series is using this song in it's promo and it's been stuck in my head for days. this is off Pink's Funhouse album, and really, it's a great record )

I think most lyrics by Brand New are great but this song wins it for me

Limousine by Brand New

"K, here's your ride.
Get your petals out and lay them in the aisle
Pretend you garden grows,
And it's your own day to wed
We've found your man.
He's drinking up. His all-American,
and he'll drive.
He's volunteered with grace to end your life
and tidy up.
It's sad to hold, but leave your shell to us
You explode, you firefly, you tiny boat with oars,
Feather oars
The world tilts back and pours and pours
And so, you satellite, you tidal wave,
You're a big surprise
And I've one more night to be your mother."

This signal interrupts
baby's frequency not strong enough
Remain in my hands and smile.
"We will miss you but in time you'll get settled
and we will write"

beauty supreme.
Yeah, you were right about me.
But can I get myself out from underneath
This guilt that will crush me
and in the choir I saw our sad Messiah.
He was bored and tired of my laments.
Said, "I died for you one time, but never again"
Never again, never again, never again
Never again, never again, never again
Never again, never again... [continues in the background]

Well I love you so much, but do me a favor baby, don't reply.
'cause I can dish it out, but I can't take it.
[x2]

One'll love you so much, but do me a favor baby, don't reply.
'cause I can dish it out, but I can't take it.

Two'll love you so much, but do me a favor baby, don't reply.
'cause I can dish it out, but I can't take it.

Three'll love you so much, but do me a favor baby, don't reply.
'cause I can dish it out, but I can't take it.

Four'll love you so much, but do me a favor baby, don't reply.
'cause I can dish it out, but I can't take it.

Five'll love you so much, but do me a favor baby, don't reply,
'cause I can dish it out, but I can't take it.

Six will love you so much, but do me a favor baby, don't reply.
'cause I can dish it out, but I can't take it.

Seven loves you so much, but do me a favor baby, don't reply.
'cause I can dish it out, but I can't take it.
[x2]

Seven loves you so much, but do me a favor baby, don't reply.
'cause I can dish it out, but I can't take it.
[In background:]
(I'll never have to buy adjacent plots of earth
We'll never have to rot together underneath dirt
I'll never have to lose my baby in the crowd
I should be laughing right now)

What the heck, put another great lyrical song from them

Bought A Bride - Brand New

Trees will make a forest
Trees will make a bow
These are all the harder
Words you have to know
If everyone's a structure
Where their own savior sits
I'm a little red house
But no one's living in it

Cars are little blood cells
We are oxygen
City is the airways
Suburbs appendages
She was feeling lonely
Tired of the hive
Rented out a family
And he bought a bride
Bought a bride
Bought a bride
Bought a bride

Little cities' names on very lonely maps
They tied her up and laid her on the train tracks

Where are all the seedlings
We grew for violins?
Down in Jersey lumber
Still in prosthetic limbs
Should've been a soldier
I could've fought and died
There's no revolution
So I bought a bride
Bought a bride
Bought a bride
Bought a bride

Coming down the aisle while the horns play Taps
They tied her up and laid her on the train tracks

If somehow I was new and everything was unsaid
I'd go and buy a hammer, never sing again

Sleeping on a stairway
Dreamt I had a boat
Sailed it out the harbor
Shot it full of holes
Folded up my prayer book
I couldn't see the lines
Drowning in a kelp bed
I bought a bride.

Trailer Trash - Modest Mouse

Eating snow flakes with plastic forks
And a paper plate of course, you think of everything
Short love with a long divorce
And a couple of kids of course
They don't mean anything
Live in trailers with no class
goddamn I hope I can pass high school means nothing
Taking heartache with hard work
Goddamn I am such a jerk, I can't do anything
And I shout that you're all fakes
And you should have seen the look on your face
And I guess that's what it takes
When comparing your bellyaches
And it's been a long time
Which agrees with this watch of mine
And I guess that I miss you, and I'm sorry
if I dissed you
Big town's got its losers, small town's got its vices...

I love Modest Mouse, at least what I've heard which is mostly Good News For People Who Love Bad News.

Blame It On The Tetons - Modest Mouse

Blame it on the Tetons. Yeah, I need a scapegoat now.
No my dog won't bite you, though it had the right to. You oughta give her credit cuz she knows I would've let it happen.

Blame it on the weekends. God, I need a cola now.
Oh we mumble loudly, wear our shame so proudly. Wore our blank expressions, trying to look interesting. Blame it all on me cuz god I need a cold one now.

All them eager actors gladly taking credit for the lines created by the people tucked away from sight is just a window from the room we're bound to. If you find a way out, oh would you just let me know how? Would you just let me know how?

Blame it on the web but the spider's your problem now. Language is the liquid that we're all dissolved in. Great for solving problems, after it creates a problem. Blame it on the Tetons. God, I need a scapegoat now.

Everyone's a building burning with no one to put the fire out. Standing at the window looking out, waiting for time to burn us down. Everyone's an ocean drowning with no one really to show how they might get a little better air if they turned themselves into a cloud.

My favourite song by them. Especially "Language is the liquid that we're all dissolved in. Great for solving problems, after it creates a problem".

FYI Teton is french slang for 'tit'. It's also a nickname for the mountains in France they refer to as Big Tetons.

Also can't believe that I forgot this in my Brand New post:

Play Crack The Sky - Brand New

We sent out the S.O.S. call.
It was a quarter past four, in the morning
When the storm broke our second anchor line.
Four months at sea. Four months of calm seas {only}
To be pounded in the shallows off the tip of Montauk Point.

They call 'em rogues. They travel fast and alone.
One hundred foot faces of God's good ocean gone wrong.
What they call love is a risk,
'Cause you will always get hit
Out of nowhere by some wave
And end up on your own.

The hole in the hull defied the crew’s attempts,
To bail us out.
And flooded the engines and radio,
And half buried bow.

Your tongue is a rudder.
It steers the whole ship.
Sends your words past your lips
Or keeps them safe behind your teeth.
But the wrong words will strand you.
Come off course while you sleep.
Sweep your boat out to sea
Or dashed to bits on the reef.

The vessel groans
The ocean pressures its frame.
To the port I see the lighthouse
Through the sleet and the rain.
And I wish for one more day to give my
Love and repay debts.
But the morning finds our bodies washed up thirty miles west.

They say that the captain stays fast with the ship,
Through still and storm,
But this ain't the Dakota,
And the water's so cold,
{We} won't have to fight for long.

(This is the end.)
This story's old but it goes on and on until we disappear,
(This is the calm.)
Calm me and let me taste the salt you breathed while you were underneath,
(We are the risen.)
I am the one who haunts your dreams of mountains sunk below the sea,
(After the storm.)
I spoke the words but never gave a thought to what they all could mean,
(Rest in the sea.)
I know that this is what you want, a funeral keeps both of us apart.
(Washed up on the beach.)
You know that you are not alone, I need you like water in my lungs.
[x2]

This is the end.

Such a brilliant piece of song writing, imo. I'm just glad these guys are starting to get some of the recognition they deserve. I've been listening to them for 7 years. The put on a hell of a show as well. They ended the last show with this song acoustic and it was just fantastic.

This thread is awesome. I'd forgotten how much I loved Brand New. I haven't really listened to them in a couple years. Play Crack The Sky was always my favorite song by them.
I had my infatuations, but we both know in our hearts who is the sole love of my short, bright life.

You should get their newest Album, Daisy, if you haven't heard it. I made a Brand New Thread (should still be on first page) that has links to a few of their new songs. It's a bit more heavy than their older stuff but I think it's their best album. They seem to only get better with age.

I'd give Daisy a close second to Devil and God. But, before we stray too far from the topic of this thread:

A More Perfect Union - Titus Andronicus

There'll be no more counting the cars on the garden state parkway
Nor waiting for the Fung Wah bus to carry me to who-knows-where
And when I stand tonight, 'neath the lights of the Fenway
Will I not yell like hell for the glory of the Newark Bears?
Because where I'm going to now, no one can ever hurt me
Where the well of human hatred is shallow and dry
No, I never wanted to change the world, but I'm looking for a new New Jersey
Because tramps like us, baby, we were born to die

I'm doing 70 on 17, 80 over 84
And I never let the Meritt Parkway magnetize me no more
Give me a brutal Somerville summer,
Give me a cruel New England winter
Give me the great Pine Barrens
So I can see them turned into splinters
And if I come in on a donkey, let me go out on a gurney
I want to realize too late I never should have left New Jersey

I sense the enemy, they're rustling around in the trees
I thought I had gotten away but the followed me to 02143
Woe, oh woe is me, no one knows the trouble I see
When they hang Jeff Davis from a sourapple tree, I'll sit beneath the leaves and weep
None of us shall be saved, every man will be a slave
For John Brown's body lies a'mouldring in the grave and there's rumbling down in the caves
So if it's time for choosing sides, and to show this dirty city how we do the Jersey Slide
And if it deserves a better class of criminal,
Then I'm'a give it to them tonight
So we'll rally around the flag, rally around the flag
Rally around the flag, boys, rally once again,
Shouting the Battle Cry of Freedom
Rally around the flag, rally around the flag
Glory, glory, Hallelujah, His truth is marching on
Big town's got its losers, small town's got its vices...

For the longest time, I took no notice of MGMT. Even after hearing all the hype about them, I wasn't really that interested: saw a couple of their weird-arsed videos and I wasn't impressed. Then I saw a vid of theirs that was really weird arsed that finally grabbed my attention. Then I listened to the lyrics of it. As well as a few others too. I've been listening to this non-stop, and somehow I still haven't got any of their albums yet. Must sort that out asap!

MGMT - Flash Delirium

Mild apprehension
Blank dreams of the coming fun
Distort the odds of a turnaround
Gut screams out next to none
So turn it on
Tune it in
And stay inert
You say "I've got the backbone"
The back way to escape the gun
Climbing a tree with a missing limb
And not saving anyone
And now it hurts
To stay at home
And see
Flash
The mirror ball's throwing mold
You can't get a grip if there's nothing to hold
See the flash catch a white lily laugh and wilt
But if you must smash a glass first fill it to the hilt

Plants
As far as I know are still,
Still bending toward the light
And if we dance
Until the heart explodes
It'll make this place ignite
And even if this hall collapses
I can stand by my pillar of hope it's just
A case of Flash delirium

Here's a growing culture
Deep inside a corpse
Ages stuck together
Takin it to the source
Timeless desperation
Pictures on a screen scream
"hey people, what does it mean?"

Comfort keeps us nice
So quick to donate everything (nothing arrives)
Die wolken drifting blinding smiles circling (einkreisen)
But time's tingling spines
Attaching hands to floor
The rosy-tinted flash

The hot dog's getting cold
And you'll never be as good as the Rolling Stones
Watch the birds in the airport gathering dirt
Crowd the clean magazine chick lifting up her skirt

(Why close one eye and try to
Pledge allegiance to the sun
When plastic ghosts start terrorizing everyone
Geometric troops aligning
Carried up to the burial mounds
My earthbound heart is heavy
Your heartbeat keeps things light
With the violence forever threatening the night
And even if this hall collapses
I can stand by my pillar of hope and trust)
Lines when I close my eyes and just
Aim blindly at the sun
And hear love
When the ghosts start singing terrorizing everyone
Geometric troops aligning
Carried up to the burial mounds with gold
It's a heavy load but your
You rhythm makes it light and explode
Like a violent star keeps threatening the night
And even if this hall collapses
I can stand by my pillar of hope and trust
That our heads won't bust

66 55 red battleships
40 earthlike planets
3 holes 2 tits
1 fork in it's side
Zero tears in their eyes

Sue the spiders
Sink the Welsh
Stab your facebook
Sell sell sell
Undercooked
Overdone
Mass adulation not so funny
Poisoned honey
Pseudo science
Silly money
You're my honey
Never be cruel and never be cowardly. And if you ever are, always make amends.

You are a walking talking Doctor Who encyclopedia to me.
- Melike

Really tuning on older Pearl Jam lately.

I love, love Wishlist because it contains one of my all time favorite lyric lines :

I wish I was the verb 'to trust' and never let you down

Wishlist by Eddie Vedder
I wish I was a neutron bomb, for once I could go off
I wish I was a sacrifice, but somehow still lived on
I wish I was a sentimental ornament you hung on
The Christmas tree, I wish I was the star that went on top
I wish I was the evidence, I wish I was the grounds
For 50 million hands upraised and open toward the sky

I wish I was a sailor with someone who waited for me
I wish I was as fortunate, as fortunate as me
I wish I was a messenger and all the news was good
I wish I was the full moon shining off a Camaro's hood

I wish I was an alien at home behind the sun
I wish I was the souvenir you kept your house key on
I wish I was the pedal brake that you depended on
I wish I was the verb 'to trust' and never let you down

I wish I was a radio song, the one that you turned up
I wish...

one of my favorite songs ever Kings of Leon- Closer

Stranded in this spooky town
Stoplights are swaying and the phone lines are down
This floor is crackling cold, she took my heart, I think she took my soul
With the moon I run far from the carnage of the fiery sun

Driven by the strangle of vein showing no mercy I do it again,
Open up your eye, you keep on crying baby, I?ll bleed you dry
Skies they blink at me, I see a storm bubbling up from the sea

And it's coming closer
And it's coming closer

You shimmy shook my bone leaving me stranded all in love on my own
Do you think of me? Where am I now? Baby where do I sleep?
Feel so good but I'm old, 2000 years of chasing's taking its toll

And its coming closer
And its coming closer
And its coming closer
And its coming closer
If you love me then love me..

I love me some Against Me! lyrics. Nearly all of their songs make me pump my fist in the air and sing along at the top of my lungs.

Walking is Still Honest by Against Me!

Dear mother,
This is just survival.
Cannot promise your children everything,
But you would lie so they can sleep tonight.
Defeat tasted nothing like you said.
Still 22 days left till the end of the world.
My legacy was making you a man
For a justice I could not change.
This is one voice not to forget;
"Fight every fight like you can win;
An iron fisted champion,
An iron willed fuck up."

Can anybody tell me why God won't speak to me?
Why Jesus never called on me to part the fucking seas?
Why death is easier than living?
You can be almost anything
When you're on your fucking knees.
Not today,
Not my son,
Not my family,
Not while walking is still honest,
And you haven't given up on me.

Dear shithead,
This isn't happening;
The sky is really falling,
The paint's all made of lead,
There's asbestos in the walls,
Hell's come over to rip off the doors
To your priveleged heaven.
Do you want to love and feel it?
You can look but you can't taste it.
You can reach but you'll never have it.
We are untouchable;
Untouchable is something to be.

Can anybody tell me why God won't speak to me?
Why Jesus never called on me to part the fucking seas?
Why death is easier than living?
You can be almost anything
When you're on your fucking knees.
Not today,
Not my son,
Not my family,
Not while walking is still honest,
And you haven't given up on me,
And you haven't given up on me,
And you haven't forgotten me...

Scream It Until You're Coughing Up Blood by Against Me!

Everything
You got to hold on to
Everything
You relied on to be there is completely fucked
There's a skeleton of loyalty hanging in the gallows of your heart
[no one wins this one]
And where are your friends?
Please help me through these years ahead.
Are we just drinking buddies
Playing with each other's deepest vulnerability?
That this is all we know?
So this is how it's gonna stay?
I think I
Would rather
Remember how it was and go our separate ways.
I don't feel anything
Unless we are living and dying for each other
Every second of our lives.

Everything
You thought that it would be,
Everything
You thought you were living for is comepletely fucked.
This is no place to be.
If we don't get out of here right now,
We're just gonna end up drunk, fucking,
and fighting and working machines.
If I have another cigarette,
If I drink another beer,
Sit quiet another time when I should've said
"Oh, this is too much.
There are things I never wanted to be."
This ship has sprung a leak
And I'll be damned if I'm going down with it.
Still breathing at any cost.

Jordan's First Choice by Against Me!

Tell me how could you compromise
Yourself like this?
Tell me how could you blame anyone else
When you aren't really committed?
Tell me where was your head
When you broke that promise to yourself,
The one where you don't forget
Every life lesson that happend before your eyes
So you don't wake up to regret she's gone years away?
You had hopes and dreams of a day
Where everything, everything, everything would come together,
You wouldn't have to be so scared.

Are we just working till a day we decide we've had enough?
All along
We were strong enough
To be sick of it,
And put them back in their fucking place.
Never asked for this responsibility
We were never in this...
Together.

The reality that you know
Is just behind your idea
Of a society, security, and self.
Am I just fucked up?
'Cause I can't remember
The last time any of this made sense,
The last time I
Could stand up to myself.
Street faces all blend into one,
They ask for spare change.
Am I forgetting
What it looks like
From the other side?
Have I forgotten where I've come from?

Are we just working till a day we decide we've had enough?
All along
We were strong enough
To be sick of it,
And put them back in their fucking place.
Never asked for this responsibility
We were never in this...
Together...
There's one hole in every revolution, large or small. And it's one word long.. people. No matter how big the idea they all stand under, people are small and weak and cheap and frightened. It's people that kill every revolution.

I have a tattoo dedicated to this song

"Scarecrow" by Strung Out

"I put my faith in the absence of something better
If it doesn't fit then it's out of reach for me
I'm a tightly wound mess
Neatly perched inside my own distress
And you talk of freedom that means nothing to me
And then you say:

How are we ever gonna know if there's something better?
Is the only way to know ourselves to go too far?
I spend my days in a fear one day
A wind will blow me away
The only thing that keeps me here are these strings of mine that hold me down
I watch the rise and fall of a thousand days
It means nothing to me
Cause i've been promised redemption for a life time wasted in these golden fields

So far so good so many promises
Swinging in the wind directions
Something that I can't control
Creation eludes me its all just waiting time here in this field Nothing but a scarecrow waiting for the world to tear me down

How are we ever gonna know if there's something better ?
Are we ever gonna be the same?
Or just go to far to realize?
Are we ever gonna become something better than what we've become?
Or are we just scarecrows waiting for the world to blow us down?"

I've really fallen in love with Mumford & Sons lately. They're lyrics are really thought provoking and sweet - and they even rhyme sometimes which pleases my ears. Here's a snippet.

Love that will not betray you,
dismay or enslave you,
It will set you free
Be more like the man
you were made to be.
There is a design,
An alignment to cry,
At my heart you see,
The beauty of love
as it was made to be
A true firewasp ninja would never wear such a ridiculous sweater.

There's logic in nonsense.

Give me all the bacon and eggs you have.

This my favorite lyrics of all time

Halo by Bethany Joy Lentz

I always said that I would make mistakes,
I'm only human, and that's my saving grace,
I fall as hard as I try
So don't be blinded
See me as I really am, I have flaws and
Sometimes I even sin,
So pull me from that pedestal,
I don't belong there.

One thing is clear,

I wear a halo,
I wear a halo when you look at me,
But standing from here, you wouldn't say so
You wouldn't say so, if you were me
And I, I just wanna love you,
Oh oh I, I just wanna love you

Cattle and the Creeping Things - The Hold Steady
They got to the part with the cattle and the creeping things. they said i'm pretty sure we've heard this one before. don't it all end up in some revelation? with 4 guys on horses, and violent red visions famine and death and pestilence and war. i'm pretty sure i heard this one before. you in the corner with a good looking drifter. two cups of coffee and ten packs of sugar. i heard gideon saw you in denver. he said you're contagious. silly rabbit. tripping is for teenagers. murder is for murderers. and hard drugs are for bartenders. i think i might have mentioned that before.

he's got the pages in his pockets that he ripped out of the bible from his bedstand in the motel. he likes the part where the traders get chased out from the temple. i guess i heard about original sin. i heard the dude blamed the chick. i heard the chick blamed the snake. i heard they were naked when they got busted. i heard things ain't been the same since. you on the streets with a tendency to preach to the choir. wired for sound and down with whatever. i heard gideon did you in denver.

she's got a cross around her neck that she ripped off from a schoolgirl in the subway on a visit to the city. she likes how it looks on her chest with three open buttons. she likes the part where one brother kills the other. she has to wonder if the the world ever will recover. because cain and abel seem to still be causing trouble.

she said: i was seeing double for 3 straight days after i got born again it felt strange but it was nice and peaceful. it really pleased me to be around so many people. of course half were just visions but half of them were friend from going thru the program with me. later on we did some sexy things. took a couple photographs and carved them into wood reliefs. but that's enough about me. tell me how you got down here into ybor city.
he said: i got thru the part about the exodus. up to then i only knew it was a movement of the people. but if small town cops are like swarms of flies and if blackened foil is like boils and hail. then i'm pretty sure we've been thru this before. and it seemed like a simple place to score. then some old lady came to the door and said mckenzie phillips doesn't live here anymore.

I Love the way that Craig Finn weaves characters and phrases throughout different songs and albums.
Big town's got its losers, small town's got its vices...

the greatest lyricst of our time is definitely Morrissey.

The Smiths: Cemetry gates

A dreaded sunny day
So I meet you at the cemetry gates
Keats and Yeats are on your side
A dreaded sunny day
So I meet you at the cemetry gates
Keats and Yeats are on your side
While Wilde is on mine

So we go inside and we gravely read the stones
All those people, all those lives
Where are they now ?
With loves, and hates
And passions just like mine
They were born
And then they lived
And then they died
It seems so unfair
I want to cry

You say : "'Ere thrice the sun done salutation to the dawn"
And you claim these words as your own
But I've read well, and I've heard them said
A hundred times (maybe less, maybe more)
If you must write prose/poems
The words you use should be your own
Don't plagiarise or take "on loan"
'Cause there's always someone, somewhere
With a big nose, who knows
And who trips you up and laughs
When you fall
Who'll trip you up and laugh
When you fall

You say : "'Ere long done do does did"
Words which could only be your own
And then produce the text
From whence was ripped
(Some dizzy whore, 1804)

A dreaded sunny day
So let's go where we're happy
And I meet you at the cemetry gates
Oh, Keats and Yeats are on your side
A dreaded sunny day
So let's go where we're wanted
And I meet you at the cemetry gates
Keats and Yeats are on your side
But you lose
'Cause weird lover Wilde is on mine
An Aes Sedai never lies, but the truth she speaks, may not be the truth you think you hear.

Ride Into The Sun - Velvet Underground

Looking for another place
Somewhere else to be
Looking for another chance
To ride into the sun
Ride into the sun
Ride into the sun
Ride into the sun
Ride into the sun
Where everything seems so pretty
When you're lonely and tired of the city
Remember it's a flower made out of clay
To the city
Where everything seems so ugly
When your sitting at home in self pity
Remember you're just one more person
Who's living there
It's hard to live in the city
It's hard to live in the city
It's hard to live in the city

Save Your Scissors - City and Colour

So go on
And I will refrain
And I'll keep on running this neverending race
maybe next time will be the right time
and maybe next time will be your time

So save your scissors
For someone else's skin
My surface is so tough
I don't think the blade will dig in
Save your strength
Save your wasted time
There's no way that I want you to be left behind
Go on save your scissors
Save your scissors

So why does it always seem
That every time I turn around
Somebody falls in love with me
This has never been my soul intention
And I have never claimed to have patents on such inventions

Just save your scissors
For someone else's skin
My surface is so tough
I don't think the blade will dig in
Save your strength
Save your wasted time
There's no way that I want you to be left behind
Go on save your scissors
Save your scissors

There is something that I must confess to you tonight
To you tonight
And that is I expect nothing less from you tonight
From you tonight

Go on save your scissors
Save your scissors
Save your scissors

Look Through My Window - The Mamas And The Papas

And the rain beats on my roof...
And it does not ask for proof...

It's not that lovers are unkind;
She always said there'd come a time
When one would leave and one stay behind.

We both knew people sometimes change
And lovers sometimes rearrange;
And nothing's quite as sure as change---
And the rain beats on my roof...

Look through my window
To the street below;
See the people hurrying by
With someone to meet, some place to go---
And I know I should let go...

She always said "I'm not like you;
When love is dead, for me it's through
And I will find and love someone new."
(And I will find somebody new)

Look through my window, yeah,
To the street below;
See the people hurrying by
With someone to meet, some place to go---
And I know I should let go...

I must admit she knew her mind;
And it will not take her long to find
Another place where the sun will shine
(Another place where the sun will shine)
(Where the sun will shine, sun will shine...)

And the rain beats on my roof
If I still require proof...
Well, the rain beats on my roof (She's gone)
If I still require proof... (She's gone)
Well, the rain beats on my roof (Look through my window)
If I still require proof ...
