    I second Regulators.

And though it doesn't seem to be a highly regarded one, I nominate Gerald's Game. That book made my skin crawl, especially:

    Spoiler:
...what Jessie did to be able to slide her hands out of the cuffs and it being described like peeling an orange...

    Spoiler:
...and when she saw the pale man in court and he mimicked her.

    The Boogeyman from Night Shift.

I read that back when I was much younger and it still unnerves me to this day to leave closet doors open at night.

    I am a 35 year old man . LOL...

I'm very, very tempted to nominate 'N' here - but I'll hold fire for now as I'm still reading it.
I will confess that going upstairs last night in the dark, having just put the book down, was bloody hair-raising!

Jean if you're curious about it, they did release an animated version over the summer. There's a link to it somewhere in The Oracle. I'm not positive if it works outside the US, but give it a shot.

Jean, as far as I know, Amazon ships books internationally, so you should be able to order yourself a copy with no problem. Go get it, it's a great book.

Yes, it is and N is a bit of a nod to Arthur Machen's The Great God Pan.

Are you sure about that? I beg to differ. Books, DVDs, and CDs they ship all over the place. There are restrictions on video games and other stuff.

    Take a look: http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/custom...?nodeId=596194

Amazon.com gladly accepts orders from all around the globe. Available product lines, shipping rates and fees may vary depending on the delivery address for your order.

We are currently able to ship books, CDs, DVDs, VHS videos, music cassettes, and vinyl records to European addresses.
Russia is on the list of the European countries to which Amazon ships, so place your order today!

thank you pablo! Not to lead this thread off topic any more: they don't give us "standard rates", only some "Priority rates" - a shipment, even if it did arrive (in most cases it just doesn't - as other people's experience has shown) would cost from 1/4 to 1/2 of my monthly salary, and I really can't pay it for a book; even if I could, I don't have the means of payment - no bank account, credit card, or any way to add anything to my paypal account, which currently contains $ 4 - all that, in short, amounts to Amazon being unavailable. So, I will have to wait till I can get it in a bookstore; I think I'll start saving right now, maybe will get myself this present for my next birthday! Thank you really, really much for your concern anyway!

Not at all, you're quite welcome. I was just trying to help a fellow Kingophile. So, they sell American books in Russian book stores? That's pretty cool!
