I think the "presale" is just in reference to the fact the books are not published yet.

Was it? I don't think I paid that for my GE, but I'll have to check to confirm.

I just checked: mine was $125 in June 2020 (I suppose it might have fluctuated since then).

Seems that the limitation for the numbered AE is now 1250. Without checking, I think that previous limitations were 750. So, for the presale for The Stand--$468,750 (numbered AE) + $450,000 (gift edition) + $78,000 (lettered AE)--$996,750 has flowed into the bank account of Mr. Richard "Charles Ponzi" Chizmar. Darn close to a cool million. Wonder how many years before any of us sees a copy of The Stand? There's also no mention of a Smyth sewn binding. Will the binding be glued?

BTW.. Current CD interest on a million is only 50K a year,
That's $4166 a month interest from customers money. LOL
Glad I not in the CD game anymore.

According to my pre-order list, my Gift Edition was $160 shipped (so assuming $150 + $10 shipping) on January 2021...so apparently the same as the current offer.

That interest rate and quote would be contingent on $1million in a bank untouched for a year. If one is using future funds to pay for current business, they likely don't have the liquidity to leave $1m in an interest bearing account untouched for a year or more. Business needs a near constant cash (income) influx to be successful. That constant income stream is what running a business comes down to. After that there are many other expenses on a P&L sheet which result in a net income/loss.

With the time value of money given current inflation that'll be chump change by the time the books are published 2030-ish.
Alright, we'll call it a draw.

Same, but yesterday it was now $150. Which I personnally think seems quite cheap.
There was no limitation mentionned though for the GE The Stand.

Did the Doubleday collection have all the same limitation?

    According to the data here:https://www.stephenkingcollector.com/us_limiteds.html
All the AEs (until The Stand) have had a 750 limitation

On May 14, 2014, I purchased all the remaining Doubleday gift and artist editions for the same price I paid for Carrie via a special offer using Mindy's Secret Link.

The prices are still listed on Cemetery Dance's website:

    Published in three states:
    • Slipcased Oversized Hardcover Gift Edition of only 3,000 copies printed in two colors on a specialty paper stock; bound with a fine binding, two color hot foil stamping, and embossed endpapers; and featuring a unique black-and-white limitation page with artwork by Glenn Chadbourne ($85)

    • Traycased Oversized Hardcover Numbered Artist Edition signed by the artist and limited to only 750 hand-numbered copies printed in two colors on a specialty paper stock; bound with a different fine binding, two color hot foil stamping, and full color illustrated endpapers; a full-color signature sheet signed by the artists and featuring artwork by Glenn Chadbourne; and housed in a traycase ($225)

    • Traycased Oversized Hardcover Artist Lettered Edition signed by the artist and limited to 52 hand-lettered copies printed in two colors on a specialty paper stock; bound in two different fine materials in a hand-made three piece binding featuring spine hubs, gilded page edges, two color hot foil stamping, and full color illustrated endpapers; featuring a different full-color signature sheet signed by the artists and featuring artwork by Glenn Chadbourne; and housed in a unique "three piece" traycase ($1000)

I hope to live long enough to see the two remaining books.

I didnt notice that the limitation is written on the CD website : GE 3,000 copies / AE 1,250 / L 52
    https://www.cemeterydance.com/the-stand.html

So the AE has been significantly increased. Almost doubled.

Looks like a money grab to me. Print more ,make more money. No other explanation for it since all previous AE's have been 750.

Anyone know how long it takes to get a post approved on the CD Forums? Posted a question yesterday, and the post is still "unapproved". Do all posts need to be approved?
