"It's his eyes, Roland thought. They were wide and terrible, the eyes of a dragon in human form" - Roland seeing the Crimson King for the first time.
"When the King comes and the Tower falls, sai, all such pretty things as yours will be broken. Then there will be darkness and nothing but the howl of Discordia and the cries of the can toi" - From Song of Susannah
So is the creature from Dreamcatcher really an alien or from todash or from alien todash?

I always thought of the alien from Dreamcatcher was from another planet.

Me too but I thought the way the tentacles looked and ate they looked quite similar to the dreamcatcher aliens.

Since this has now been released for some time, I am going to move it to Fedic Station, with a brief redirect.
The tentacles made me hungry and a bit horny!

I'm sorry to burst in here just like this without introducing myself first (I'll do that later)... but I'm currently watching the Mist either on the bus from work home on my iPod or at home on DVD (in little pieces ), and I just have to say that it's the most explicit King-movie I've ever seen and because of that I'd even say the best... I see everybody is pissed at the ending - hope I won't be... I'll write my opinion when I finish it. It's really one of the rare King-movies that are actually scary... and I didn't read the novella
I thought the end was great.
Look Dave, I can see you're really upset about this. I honestly think you ought to sit down calmly, take a stress pill, and think things over.

Me and the Mrs just watched the movie last night. I'd read the novella, and listened the to awesome audio-book version, but it was brand new to my wife.
Loved the little DT references that have been mentioned already. I thought the ending was "ok", but I was bummed by the ending after the ending . To me it should have ended right after they ran out of gas, and well you know. But to have what happened after that really irritated me..
Okay....who's seen the black and white version? I'm dying to know how different the experience is....but I can't check it out just yet, as I currently find myself "financially embarassed".
a fan have made a NOVELLA CUT version of the movie:

WOOHOO I SAW THE MIST!!! It was finally released on my little island and I LOVED it!!!
except the ending.
Have only just seen the Mist, and loved the whole thing. It follows the novel pretty closely till you get to the final scene. But what an ending, was upset for the rest of the day ( and the next one LOL) Frank Darabont rules when it comes to King adaptations, long may he continue. Still waiting for 'Buick 8' movie, anyone have any news??
