You're probably right there... good thing one of these copies is in your hands...and who knows if there's any more out there...BTW, I forgot to mention, I really like that clear plastic slipcase you have one displayed in. Don't think I've seen one like that before.
The acrylic slipcases are nice for displaying proofs that have illustrated covers that you want to see, or are simply rare and you want to display more than just the spine. I usually have them made with a second sleeve inside that can display a piece of paper without touching the actual proof, so that there is no chance of color transfer. In this case, the auction slip is contained within, but it can very easily be an invitation to an event, marketing material, provenance papers, etc.
These are also good for storing older signed limited's that were not made with a slipcase or traycase. The covers can get damaged easily if not protected.
Unfortunately as they are custom, there is no chance you will find a fabricator willing to make one cheap. Therefore, you can't realistically display every proof in them. One of these proofs looks like it has been kicked up the road, rather than carried. As the black cover is easily damaged, these proofs must be separated with acid-free tissue paper if you are going to display them next to any other item.

Seems like there is something new here almost every day.

Oh yes. I forgot about that one. I don't have the space to display my copy, so it's still in the original shipping box under my desk.
I love how you can have a perfectly mundane item that everything is known about, and then suddenly somebody drops a bombshell like this! And it was triggered by something I wrote years ago, of all things! Way cool.Seems like there is something new here almost every day.

I had put a small bid on it, but then it got cancelled. I wonder who the lucky buyer was.

Anyone see the 25th Anniversary IT proof for sale on Betts for $860.00? Thoughts on the price?
I consider my Red cover more scarce for sure but I like the look of the my Orbik copy better!
FWIW, Orbik has some health issues. He declined this year's HF, but is up for next year. Just an FYI is all.
