Very nice. The HIA letters are great. Congratulations.

Nice stuff, idle.
Refresh my memory, what are the HIA letters again?
"...that Siren which called and sang and promised so much and gave, after all, so little." ~ Ray Bradbury
I'm not familiarized with the HIA letters.

Thanks, guys.
The HIA letters are just promotional letters from the publisher. One is from Susan Moldow (Scribner VP and Publisher) urging booksellers to spread the word about HIA, telling them that it isn't a typical SK book. The other one is a lengthy letter from King about how HIA came about. I can take closer pics if anyone is interested in reading them.
Calla, that's a great endorsement of Keene. Maybe I'll dive into Rising after I finish Duma Key.
I just got the following:
Dandelion Wine proof
John
Excellent aquisition.
Badmoonbooks still have other copies for BIN price of $95 (or offers) if anyone is interested.

Would PS sell those, though?
John
I'll have to try that from now on!
John
A couple of new things.
Drawing of the Three, signed by Phil Hale. Also, the gift edition of Insomnia (thanks to our own Fsmdr--thanks Juliana!!!!).
I just got my copy of the paperback UK Penguin Readers version of Misery. A thumbnail is attached.
This book is not really worth the money! It is not King's story, but "retold" by Robin Waterfield. It's a total of 87 pages long, followed by six pages of activities for a classroom.
There are a total of six full-page illustrations by Ian Andrews. His style is reminiscent of Mark Geier's (remember the Green Mile ones?). I don't have the ability to post the illustrations without destroying the book.
None of the pages of Misery's Return are "retold".
Interestingly, on the copyright page, the following appears:
"The moral right of the adapter and of the illustrator has been asserted."
I wonder what that means?
John
Now that is bad when a SK collector would rather throw a book out then resell to buy more books.
I think the only reason I'll keep them is the illustrations. Otherwise, they're worthless.
John
Today I received (once again I wasn't aware it was comming to my place) a paperback UK edition of Duma Key.

I certainly hope he gets SOMETHING out of this travesty.

I just won an auction today for this....
Stephen King Hand Signed Promo Bookmark
(I told the seller they could keep the paperback of The Stand).
I have seen a few of these on ebay, and decided to grab one as the price seemed fair to me.
Here is the last one I saw on ebay
Stephen King book/autograph
The card reads:
"Dear Constant Reader, If you've been waiting for the Dark Tower novels to be completed, they are. So, this summer would be a good time to start the story of Roland (or to refresh your memory). See the front of this card for publication dates.
(etc.)
The end is near, so saddle up. I think you'll be glad you did.
Best wishes,
Stephen King (actual signature).
FYI: The card is computer-generated. The signature is real."
I have never seen a "signed" The Stand bookmark. Wow. If that is an actual-not a facsimile signature, you have truly rooted out a treasure.
Congratulations.
